Nica Trattoria is a classic Italian restaurant located in the Upper East Side. Diners come here the first time for simple, authentic Italian cuisine, including pasta, gnocchi and other menu options, but they stay for owner and Chef Giuseppe’s warm welcome attitude. Customers often say that dining at Nica Trattoria feels like being a part of Giuseppe’s family.

There is no place like this in NYC. You feel like a guest in the owner/chef’s house. Humor, warmth, patience, intimacy — all good vibes. Maybe 10 tables in entire restaurant. Giuseppe remembered my dinner companion after a 11 year hiatus. Says it all. Food is supreme. Cannolis impossible to replicate. Even boring dishes like chicken parmigiana are elevated to fine dining and flavors. Recommend adding a little spice to the tomato sauce with the pillows of God.

Nice folks, but the food was disappointing. My food was undercooked and my wife’s was so mediocre that she left half on the plate.

Took my son-in-law to this charming neighborhood restaurant. Owner treated us like regulars. We started with glasses of the Super Tuscan, and baked eggplant and fava bean/sausage appetizers - excellent, particularly the homemade rollatini red sauce. For entrees, we shared the pappardelle funghi (fresh pasta/savory mushrooms) and veal saltimbocca (pounded thin with slightly salty prosciutto - thought I also tasted lemon?). Both were delicious. With one visit, this restaurant became a new favorite. Can’t wait to return with my wife!

Nica is an amazing person and restaurant. We had a fantastic time! The wine, food and service was impeccable. When visiting Manhattan I will always go here if I can get a booking!

I will give my honest opinion but it pains me a bit. This is our fav place to go for a neighborhood Italian in NYC. It's tiny so if it gets so popular I can't get a seat I will be bummed for me. Happy for y'all but bummed for me. Enjoy!
