Our menu represents Chef Michael's Blackie’s best food memories, which span over his 35 plus international career Chef worked in Asia, Latin America and is an expat from the UK.
His food style can best be described as a balance between Canadian roots with a strong influence in both Asian, Latin and European cuisines.
We are currently open for Dinner weekly 7 days week from 5 to 9 pm. We are known for our blind tasting menu that features 8 dishes shared between minimum of 2 people. We are also open for Sunday Brunch from 10am to 1 pm and offer a sharing 5 course - 10 dish brunch tasting menu.
NeXT opened in 2009 and is consistently in the top drawer of established restaurants in the Ottawa / Gatineau region. NeXT has been awarded many accolades over these past 11 years.

Do not waste your money. The menu is dated and over priced. Lots of things thrown into the deep fryer, and overcooked. We waited for over an hour for our mains to come. They clearly wanted us to spend more money on alcohol even after we told them we were driving. Our server was constantly trying to upsell us. They push the tasting menu. Our server was not professional, and borderline rude. She stated that she is retiring, it’s definitely past the time that she does.It was so noisy, we felt like we were eating in a food hall, not a restaurant.

Food was great. Unfortunately our server did not appreciate the amount of our tip. Seriously, a $38.00 tip wasn’t enough, she actually looked at the amount of the tip, grabbed the receipt and payment machine and walked away. I was celebrating my 65th birthday, my husband and I are retired we bought gift card from Costco to help with the cost to eat at your restaurant for this special occasion, we didn’t get the the 20% discount on a bottle of wine on Monday because we had gift cards. We will not be returning to your restaurant, however we will continue to support other Stittsville restaurants because we believe in supporting our community.

NeXT consistently delivers one of the best dining experiences in Ottawa. The rotating menu keeps things fresh and interesting for returning clients while retaining the same quality we've come to expect from chef Michael Blackie and his team. NeXT's menu can best be described as creative fine dining. A fusion between traditional European and global cuisine (predominantly Asian inspired). We have always ordered the tasting menu option which comes with 8 dishes for sharing spread across 4 waves. 3 waves are savory and the final is dessert. Chef's choice for the dishes, however they will accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences if possible. I would not consider this a small plates type of restaurant if you choose to try the tasting menu, come hungry! The drinks menu is well thought out and the cocktails pair well with the meal. Expect fine dining prices, but we have always felt that the value for your money, especially with the tasting menu is very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed the amazing dishes in the blind menu and had such a great time with Chef Blackie serving us and sharing many stories of his trips around the world with his wife. Just a fantastic evening all around!

Service, food presentation and ambience were all perfect. Highly recommend the kapow cauliflower and chicken schnitzel. Lots of free parking.

Creative dishes bursting with flavour. We especially loved the beef short ribs - generous portion of very tender beef served a wide variety of accompaniments. We were fortunate that Chef Blackie was our server and he provided explanations of the dishes and ingredients.
