Our menu represents Chef Michael's Blackie’s best food memories, which span over his 35 plus international career Chef worked in Asia, Latin America and is an expat from the UK.
His food style can best be described as a balance between Canadian roots with a strong influence in both Asian, Latin and European cuisines.
We are currently open for Dinner weekly 7 days week from 5 to 9 pm. We are known for our blind tasting menu that features 8 dishes shared between minimum of 2 people. We are also open for Sunday Brunch from 10am to 1 pm and offer a sharing 5 course - 10 dish brunch tasting menu.
NeXT opened in 2009 and is consistently in the top drawer of established restaurants in the Ottawa / Gatineau region. NeXT has been awarded many accolades over these past 11 years.

We arrived for our reservation and we’re met and sat right away, the service was absolutely excellent and the food matched. This is our second time at Next for Sunday Brunch, we have now decided we would like to reserve for an evening dinner …… We would recommend this restaurant to all willing to try something a little bit different and a time that is so enjoyable.

We usually choose NeXT for our special occasion meals, because you definitely get more than what you pay for and not having to go downtown is the best bonus! Also, the variety offered for the tasting menus keeps things interesting and everything is always delicious!

As usual, an outstanding experience. We always do the blind sharing menu option and as we were there in December our server mentioned this to the kitchen / chef to ensure we had some other options.

We tried the chefs choice blind sharing menu. We had no idea what dishes we would be getting, but every dish was described by the waitress when she brought it to our table. The dishes were beautifully presented, fresh, diverse and very flavorful. Service was fantastic and staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back!

A truly incredible dining experience. We were fortunate to be served by Michael Blackie who passionately served each dish with an in-depth description and background from how the dish came to be. Absolutely incredible food and an even better dining experience.

We did the blind sharing menu. All the dishes were good. The wine pairing was on point with exception of one Wine. The staff were fantastic. The ambiance was very nice and we felt very comfortable. We would certainly go back again.

Great experience first time experience for all of us, we had folks come in from the East Coast to enjoy the evening. Chef Blackie made the evening after a number of cancelled and delayed flights. food was incredible and would definitely go back and try the chefs blind dinner experience.

February 2025, we were celebrating my friends and my birthday. It was our first time at NEXT we all had a great experience. The service was stellar. I had the duck and was very pleased. We plan to return for brunch. We already are telling friends how much we enjoyed it.
