Our menu represents Chef Michael's Blackie’s best food memories, which span over his 35 plus international career Chef worked in Asia, Latin America and is an expat from the UK.
His food style can best be described as a balance between Canadian roots with a strong influence in both Asian, Latin and European cuisines.
We are currently open for Dinner weekly 7 days week from 5 to 9 pm. We are known for our blind tasting menu that features 8 dishes shared between minimum of 2 people. We are also open for Sunday Brunch from 10am to 1 pm and offer a sharing 5 course - 10 dish brunch tasting menu.
NeXT opened in 2009 and is consistently in the top drawer of established restaurants in the Ottawa / Gatineau region. NeXT has been awarded many accolades over these past 11 years.

The restaurant lacks design. I wish it felt more intimate, kind of reminded me of resort dining. Our greeting was quick and warm. Service was efficient and we weren’t left waiting for attention. The food was good, not great. Overall for a brunch with all the items included I thought $55 was extremely fair. I enjoyed our experience but likely wouldn’t rush back.

Everything was wonderful . The food was amazing. It was our fist time bringing our kids (14 and 19) for our 20th anniversary. My daughter is very picky and she absolutely loved the food and my son was joking about why we didn’t bring him sooner because he just wants to go back every year with us. Thank you chef Blackie for making this an unbelievable experience.

This is the first experience we have had with Next that was underwhelmed. $400 bill and the rib steak was not great over salted and not to the expectation. The drinks and appetizers were great as usual. Additionally the reservation ask if the reservation is a special occasion (husband’s birthday) and the waiter did as well, but zero acknowledgment for my husbands birthday. Typically our experience is excellent with Next but extremely disappointing tonight

Our table enjoyed the Blind Sharing Menu. The hostess was wonderful to explain each dish and made sure we didn’t have any food allergies. A fabulous experience. We’ll be having leftovers today for lunch. Yum!

We are happy (and sad) that we live over 60 km from the restaurant because we would dine there more often. Blackie is an amazing, chef, server, and owner that focuses solely on customer satisfaction. He meets his goal every time we have been there (about a dozen times).

The atmosphere was elegant, vert quiet and intimate. Service was wonderful and attentive, informative and knowledgeable. One of the best meals I've experienced outside of downtown. Actually for the money it was reasonably priced and good value for the portion size. For being in the suburbs is was the best hidden gem I've been too. Highly recommend!!

As always Chef Blackie and his team create an amazing culinary experience of top level tastes and combinations and Barb provided her exceptional service we have come to know. This is our favourite restaurant and our go to for every special family occasion and where I bring Business partners. The blind sharing menu is the best way to experience the great items on the menu and you will not be dissapointed.
