Our menu represents Chef Michael's Blackie’s best food memories, which span over his 35 plus international career Chef worked in Asia, Latin America and is an expat from the UK.
His food style can best be described as a balance between Canadian roots with a strong influence in both Asian, Latin and European cuisines.
We are currently open for Dinner weekly 7 days week from 5 to 9 pm. We are known for our blind tasting menu that features 8 dishes shared between minimum of 2 people. We are also open for Sunday Brunch from 10am to 1 pm and offer a sharing 5 course - 10 dish brunch tasting menu.
NeXT opened in 2009 and is consistently in the top drawer of established restaurants in the Ottawa / Gatineau region. NeXT has been awarded many accolades over these past 11 years.

Everything was great. I put 3 stars for the ambiance only because it was too dark. I understand that dim lights make for a romantic atmosphere, but it was too dark. The place is lovely. We shared the watermelon and prosciutto salad, the Malaysian char keuey, the short ribs which were all very good. I would highly recommend it.

This is by far my favorite restaurant to go to. While fully worth the price, it can be expensive, so I only go for special occasions. If you haven't gone before, and can afford to splurge, do so and if there are at least 2 of you, I highly recommend the tasting multi course meal. It's so much food for the price and so worth it, and the food is always phenomenal. I can not recommend it enough, and the servers are the most friendly, knowledgeable attentive you will find. 10/10 and I can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful evening at NeXT restaurant! The location is lovely, the service was excellent and as for the food, all but one dish was amazing. We tried the Bling Share service and for 89$/person it is definitely worth it for the quantity and quality of food you get, plus you get to sample many dishes on the menu. Would definitely go back!!

Overall a great experience at Next as always. The downside to the ambiance was how dark it was. I mean I'm all for mood lighting but when you need your phone to see the menu or the server needs the pay machine light to see the bill, that's a bit dark! We did the tasting menu which was quite yummy but we felt it was half and half things we'd go back for again and others we wouldn't. That being said, still a great day night!

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long while. Three of us shared the tasting menu and agreed that each dish was outstanding. Highly, highly recommend. Chef Blackie was a great host. Will definitely be back.

The restaurant lacks design. I wish it felt more intimate, kind of reminded me of resort dining. Our greeting was quick and warm. Service was efficient and we weren’t left waiting for attention. The food was good, not great. Overall for a brunch with all the items included I thought $55 was extremely fair. I enjoyed our experience but likely wouldn’t rush back.
