Opened in August 2020, Nella Kitchen & Bar offers fresh, modern California cuisine and focuses on 'Roman Pinsas'.
Meals are served on the front porch overlooking Grand Ave where guests are warmly welcomed, or in the cozy Dining Room which also has a private Wine Room that can host family seating and private parties.
Cocktails are focused on classics and served in the Lounge with a lot of bar seating.
As much as we love pets, we only allow service animals at Nella, thank you for understanding.

Beautiful location in downtown Los Olivos on a street that looks like it was plucked out of a Hollywood movie about a wine country town. Our server, Juan, was knowledgeable and attentive, and the room was lovely. Where Nella ended up falling short, alas, was in the food. Steamed mussels were oddly under seasoned in basic flavoring but wildly over the top with the tarragon, which threw off the balance of the dish, and it lacked acid. The romaine leaves similarly lacked a punch of acid and left us longing for a hit of Maldon salt. Main courses were similarly just a bit off - a 5 Hour Bolognese proved surprisingly lack-luster in both flavor & texture and the Duck was both too salty and too sweet. Not sure if dining on Tuesday meant we weren’t getting the A Team in the kitchen, but at these prices the food was - at best - a B-.

Our waiter was fantastic! Juan was attentive and so much fun. The food was exceptional.

We had a lovely meal at Nellas. My blue nose fish from New Zealand was delicious and cooked to perfection (thx chef) also perfect was my husband's pork chop.

It was our first time back in years. Would prefer to have them feature more regional wines. One of the best salads we have ever had. Delicious Filet Mignon. Tasty 'Spritz' cocktail. White wine served a bit too cold. Will be back!

Our service was extremely slow and I had to go in to the front desk several times to ask for our server. I was with three girlfriends and when we were ready to pay, the server said she could only split the check two ways. I find that unacceptable and discriminatory. Had we been a table of four men, I think our server would have been far more attentive. I’ve never had this problem when I’m with my husband. I am a local and will think twice before coming in again.

This probably our favorite restaurant, period. Whatever you have is perfectly cooked, fresh and tasty. We typically get the romini salad and the 5-hour bolognese. We skewed a bit - went with the artichoke appetizer, bread & butter (of course) and the sausage/potato pinsa. All outstanding as usual. Plus, our server, Forrest, was wonderful. Engaging, knowledgeable and sincere. See why it's favorite!

Overall fantastic experience. The bone-in-rib eye was the best steak I've EVER had! (and I've had lots!).

So this is our second visit. The first was excellent but this one not so much. Host confirmed on arrival that this was a birthday dinner. First course took 45 minutes to arrive ( a salad). It was a long dinner for only three courses. Food was good but overshadowed by the overall poor performance of the restaurant. No attempts made to explain or compensate for the very long gaps in courses ( a two and a half hour meal). What really got me was that at a birthday meal for us the table next to us was gifted a second dessert ( they had a birthday too) and for us there was no acknowledgment of the poor service or the birthday for us. Not really wanting to return or recommend.
