Chef Nasrin can’t remember life before cooking. For her, cooking is an expression of love. In her family’s kitchen in Tehran, she faithfully learned secret recipes and delicate skills from her grandmother and mother. In her restaurant those dishes and memories are transformed into a flavorful experience that transcend borders and time. Nasrin's kitchen menu is a celebration of traditional dishes from all over Iran.

The menu consists of classic stews including her signature Fesenjoon - an elegant combination of pomegranate molasses and crushed walnuts, as well as other beloved favorites like Ghormeh sabzi. Kabobs, vegetarian centric appetizers and savory side dishes also adorn the colorful menu.

Chef Nasrin and her authentic cooking has been featured in several renowned publications: including the New York Times, The New Yorker Magazine, Vogue Magazine, Eater. She has also created memorable catering events for Google, Twitter, HBO & NYC Public Library.

    19 mars 2025 - 22 mars 2025
March 20/22 We are going to have DJ March 19/21 We are going to have Live traditional Music Nowruz, meaning "New Day" in Persian, is the ancient celebration of the Persian New Year, marking the arrival of spring and the vernal equinox. With roots dating back over 3,000 years to Zoroastrian traditions, Nowruz is widely celebrated across Iran, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and parts of the Middle East and the Balkans. The holiday symbolizes renewal, rebirth, and the triumph of light over darkness. Families prepare for Nowruz with Khaneh Tekani (spring cleaning), setting up the Haft-Seen table, an arrangement of seven symbolic items beginning with the Persian letter "S," such as Sabzeh (sprouts for rebirth), Samanu (sweet pudding for strength), and Seer (garlic for health). Fire-jumping rituals (Chaharshanbe Suri), festive gatherings, and feasting on traditional dishes like Sabzi Polo ba Mahi (herbed rice with fish) are essential parts of the celebration. Nowruz is a time of joy, family reunions, and wishing for prosperity and good fortune in the new year. The holiday typically lasts for two weeks, culminating in Sizdah Bedar, a day spent outdoors to embrace nature and let go of bad luck. Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Nowruz is a testament to the enduring spirit and rich traditions of Persian culture.

My second visit to Nasrin's Kitchen after one not long after they first opened, and it was wonderful. The food was even more consistently delicious, in a lovely setting with wonderful hospitality. A gem of New York.

We choose this restaurant for an early Valentines Day dinner before the theatre. Its upstairs location makes it a little hard to find. The Service was friendly and the food interesting if overpriced given the small portions. The special menu for the occasion may not reflect the range of choices and pricing of the regular menu.

A friendly, quiet and cozy oasis above the bustle of 57th Street. The food is tasty and the portions are generous.

This is a real hidden gem. It’s on such busy street but inside you feel as if you’re in someone’s home. The service is very attentive. The waiter steered us to favorites and told us others to avoid because of my husband’s taste issues…hates anything too spicy. Everything was tasty and the bread fresh baked. I will definitely be back.

Everything we ordered had Pomagranits with a sweet sauce on it. Even the Dolmeh which was very odd.

Service was great. Vibe is cozy and authentic, like you’re eating at a family member’s house. The yogurt dip and bread were the best things we ate. Unfortunately, the chicken kebab, though flavorful, was not hot and the meat was more like a chewy thigh than a juicy cube of meat. The beef stew was good, but I’ve had much better at Ravagh and Sofreh for this price point.
