Chef Nasrin can’t remember life before cooking. For her, cooking is an expression of love. In her family’s kitchen in Tehran, she faithfully learned secret recipes and delicate skills from her grandmother and mother. In her restaurant those dishes and memories are transformed into a flavorful experience that transcend borders and time. Nasrin's kitchen menu is a celebration of traditional dishes from all over Iran.

The menu consists of classic stews including her signature Fesenjoon - an elegant combination of pomegranate molasses and crushed walnuts, as well as other beloved favorites like Ghormeh sabzi. Kabobs, vegetarian centric appetizers and savory side dishes also adorn the colorful menu.

Chef Nasrin and her authentic cooking has been featured in several renowned publications: including the New York Times, The New Yorker Magazine, Vogue Magazine, Eater. She has also created memorable catering events for Google, Twitter, HBO & NYC Public Library.

Such an incredible meal and truly unlike any Iranian restaurant in New York. Felt like being invited to a home. Delicious ghorme sabzi, must o musir, khashk-e-badenjan and the warmest, most gracious service. Will be back next time in the city! Inspiring Chef story and wishing this women-owned restaurant continued success. Mobarak on their 1 year anniversary.

The food was delicious and the staff was kind and helpful. As a native New Yorker and Persian, I have tried every single Persian restaurant in the city, and Nasrin's kitchen feels like it fits well. The food certainly has more of a homemade feel than any of the other restaurants such as Ravagh or Persepolis.... The restaurant is easy to miss when walking down the street because it is covered by the kosher diner. This is sad for the Nasrin's Kitchen because it deserves so much more recognition than it gets on weekdays.

A gem of a dining experience in Midtown. We thought all of the authentic family-run restaurants had moved out to other boroughs, but here at 57th and 5th you can find the real thing. Amazing food, congenial service, a sense of being somewhere special. The cream and charcoal marble walls offer a backdrop for soft colors and intimate lighting. And it’s so quiet! In this magical atmosphere Chef Nasrin conjures unimaginably delicious and interesting food. We ordered the Persian blue salt lager and sumac gose—these pair perfectly with the palette of exotic spices. Five stars is not enough!

Nothing really favorable to write about this establishment besides a friendly wait staff. Location is hard-to-find and the atmosphere is dark and bland. Food lacks flavor - our chicken was uncooked and rubbery! Just took a few bites of rice and quickly grabbed the check. Safe to say won't be returning or recommending.

Slooooooow service. Only 2 servers and 1 person supposed to pour water but didn’t. Completely full restaurant.

I love Persian food and while this is an attempt to serving a homey version of it it ultimately is just an overpriced bowl of rice with a bit of dry meats and blandish spice level horrendous bill and 6% credit card charge disappointing

Nasrin’s Kitchen is a special place. The food is excellent, the staff are warm, welcoming and attentive. The atmosphere is convivial and delightful. We knew this would become a favorite for us early in the meal.
