We are incredibly proud of our food and customer care here at the Lodge. Our kitchen and restaurant team strive tirelessly to provide the best possible cuisine and service, which have guests and locals coming back time and time again.

The Bar & Bistro serves a variety of fresh locally sourced Welsh cuisine and bar snacks as well as a wide range of fine wine, great spirits and local beers. Our lunch and dinner menus highlight the best of real Welsh cuisine including locally sourced seafood, Welsh sirloin steaks and roast rump of Welsh lamb.

The food was nice and the price was reasonable but the service and decor were not the best. It was low level, so not enough to complain but it was lacking. We were waiting to see a member of the waiting staff so we could get the bill and 15 mins later we eventually had to get up and wait in a queue of 8 other diners to pay. We had to serve our own wine in glasses I’m assuming come from the same supplier that supplies the local working men’s club. The decor is very tired and the pictures are not level and the wallpaper on the ceiling is peeling. Overall it’s just lacking.

Terrible mean prawns were still slightly frozen the lettuce was brown. The pine nuts instead walnut Main course chicken not prepared properly and potatoes were overcooked

Food was exceptional , the best prawn cocktail I've ever had . The only let down was how slow the service was , the waitresses and servers were very nice and pleasant just took far too long to clear platws etc and didn't come back and check if everything was ok . We actually needed sauce as they brought the smallest amount of red sauce for 4 people when all of us asked for some when served food, we ended up not getting anymore as by the time a waitress appeared to ask we had eaten most of our food . There was only enough for one person . Everything just took far too long from start to finish .

The bistro: lovely food, good service and lovely staff, the lunch menu may look a bit pricey but the way it's served makes it all worth it, I ordered the club sandwich and hubby had the homemade fish finger sandwich they were both served with beautiful chips and side salad it was a meal in itself. The restaurant: once again lovely food, good service, great staff, we had ribeye steak two nights on the trot as it was beautifully cooked, to perfection, worth every penny.

Mixed experience. Service was good. Had the chicken curry which was described as medium heat. It was presented well but totally tasteless. I had to add a huge amount of pepper and salt. Has Crème Brûlée for dessert which was wonderful!

Good pint of Doom Bar ,excellent fish and chips. Service poor. Window installation in above restaurant room with frightening and unacceptable noise forced us to move into bar . There are numerous rooms to eat and these should have been utilised.bNot a busy lunchtime only 3 other tables. In use. Meal took 35mins to arrive. Surly waitress . Horrible smell in toilets. Would not recommend,this place has ‘lost its way .

We dined yesterday evening. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and engaging, a pleasure. The food was plentiful, to our tasting and expectation.

Truly great food and such a cute dining room. Servers were a tiny bit standoffish but they were very accommodating and informative when we did manage to connect with them
