Outstanding service and food was awesome. Staff was attentive and available to answer any questions we had.

The wine was good. We dined early and the staff was super nice and accommodating to our child, who is admittedly well-behaved. The owners are very present and friendly. Our server was gracious. Regarding food, the beet and Caesar salads were fairly average and the pastas were not much to write home about. I usually have leftovers (BMI is 20, for the record) and even I finished my entire entree here. Small portions.

LotsofLiles We are sorry that you did not enjoy your entrees. Our regular customers love our beet and caesar salads, some people do not like the fact that we make the caesar mixed in the bowl, they prefer a bottled caesar dressing. Not sure what pasta dish you had, but since we make our own pasta with flour from Italy, the flour is much finer than your regular pasta flour and much lighter. Our customers tell us that we give too much pasta but they were able to eat it all because of the texture and lightness of the pasta. We hope you come back again to give us another try in the future. We have had good dinners at Nancetta’s previously, so we were disappointed when we were served burned veal, mushy pasta (homemade, but mushy), and service that was disorganized and inattentive. The place does not have its act together.

We are sorry that you were disappointed with your dinners at Nancetta's, but unfortunately you never informed us of a problem when you were here, therefore allowing us the opportunity to correct it? We did contact you and ask you to return for dinner but to no avail? As far as the server being disorganized, he was simply trying to locate a bottle of wine and I intervened.

Our reservation was for 6:30 for 7 adults and 2 kids. Thank God we ordered the kids meals first because it took over an hour and a half for the adults to get their meals!! This is not the first time we’ve waited forever for meals!! My father ordered soup and his took the longest to come out!! It was the last thing served. The shrimp I added to mine was gummy yet slimy and was really gross. We will not be going back.

It is unfortunate you expect food to be of highest quality and delivered in 20 minutes. It's impossible. The shrimp I cooked personally and is red Argentinian. It is seasoned with extra virgin olive oil and is not slimy or gummy. Your father ordered soup as an entree and was served last. He commented how good the soup was when he left. Your rating of food at 4 and service at 4 cause us to be confused? Ambience and value at 2 were not addressed in your review.

The food and service was exceptional! It’s easy to see why the homemade pasta dish lobster ravioli is a popular favorite. The veal piccata can’t be beat!

As repeating customers, we invited friends to join us at Nancetta’s Ristorante as a party of four for our get-together dining. This five-star Italian restaurant, locally-owned, is tucked away in the one of the nooks and crannies of Pittsburgh and consistently delivered the best of the best dishes in the form of spreads, appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, deserts and speciality drinks, all of which are freshly made within the realm of Italian cuisine. Our bartender and waiter, Tommy, new to Nancetta provided impeccable attention to our table, above-and-beyond service to our party that is professional, thoughtful, courteous, accommodating, caring, kind, considerate, respectful, attentive and passionate with humor. The owners, husband and wife, equally provide such service to our table and noticeably to all other tables in the restaurant. This restaurant is indeed a rare, precious gem conveniently located close to the exit of Route 28. For those looking for a top notch small, reliable local restaurant that serves up freshly made, homemade Italian cuisine, this is it. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to Tommy and the owners of Nancetta’s Ristorante. Our party of four expect to be repeating customers at this exceptional Italian restaurant.

Unfortunately, one of the worst meals we have ever had. 4 of 5 items were inedible.

For it being the worst food you ever had, everyone there ate everything!! The plates were empty when they came back to the kitchen. The one gentleman even finished his wife rissotto!!

I’m 75 years old and eat out at least 2 times a week. I’ve been to at least 75% of all the restaurants in Pittsburgh over 50 years. and Nancetta’s is the absolute worst I’ve ever been to.The restaurant smelled like sewer gas, portions were tiny, prices on the menu were lower than when we got our bill, web site prices all lower, $10 for a small plate of buttered pasta for my 8 yr old granddaughter, the wild boar entreewas 2 small bones & no sides for $39, veal parm tiny with no sides $35, the duck very disappointing for $39. The best thing was the edible flowers that decorated the plates ! Service was good but at least an hour To get our entrees! Our total was $348 82 . I left 18% tip instead of my usual 20% cause Our waitress was nice. I was embarrassed that I brought my family there ! We all gave it a chance and tried to be up beat! So disappointing and an expensive lesson learned!

You fail to mention what portion of 70% of the restaurants in Pittsburgh you have been to are high end cuisine. Your overall knowledge of the quality of food cannot be determined by your review. Portion size has nothing to do with quality and is a strong indicator of your lack of knowledge of food. We do not serve Pittsburgh Italian.
