Muraya, a culinary haven located in the heart of Southend, Charlotte founded by a charming couple with a deep love, for food, cocktails and hospitality. Our journey began with a heartfelt inspiration drawn from the vibrant city of Cartagena. Every dish we create is a tribute to its rich culture, mesmerizing colors, and captivating history.
At our restaurant, we pour our passion for Colombian cuisine into every plate we serve. We enjoyed our dining experience at Muraya. The customer service provided by the hostess, server, and manager was very good. Menu options, food portions, and the quality was very good. We look forward to our next visit to try different dishes.

It was a Tuesday night, so a light crowd as expected. But still great atmosphere, and excellent food and service! Ceviche and tapas is the way to go!

We celebrated my mom’s birthday and had a great time at Muraya. They were very accommodating for our party of 9, which included 3 kids. Our server Dani was very nice and patient with our large group, and gave great recommendations. The food came out quick and was delicious. The drinks were fantastic too. We did go early (6pm) to avoid the hustle and bustle, but we did get to hear and dance for a little while to the great salsa band that was playing. Overall, it was a great fun place to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and they made her feel really special, plus we I loved they way they staff comes to sing happy birthday with sparkles and even a happy birthday sign.

food was good. cooked well, and delicious. my only complaint was the portions. plates definitely not work the price. too expensive for what you get. other than that, really cool place.

It was a wonderful birthday celebration for our family. My husband loved the happy birthday singing cater to our vegan all good!

The server was great- pleasant and knowledgeable. The vibe was lively! There was a duo playing an assortment of Colombian music. The mojito was excellent, even if I couldn't taste the "tamarind air" that the menu listed. We got the Bocaditos Muraya which was an assortment of items from their appetizers to share. It was substantial and at $45 more than enough for two. The oxtail risotto balls were disappointing - I had one tiny piece of meat and none of that oxtail flavor. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The chorizo tostado was disappointing as was the crispy pork belly "sushi". My friend tried the salmon taco thingy but was underwhelmed. I also tried the limonada de coco, expecting it to taste like the yummy beverage I'd had in Colombia. This was super thick and not very flavorful at all. I did sub out the gin for rum, but it just didn't hit like the mojito did. The pan de bono was yummy - even if a bit pricey- $15 for 4 flat rolls a bit smaller than a burger bun served with some cream cheese guava icing. I had high hopes for Muraya - it seems the go-to for celebrating because the band broken out into Spanish & English Happy Birthday songs no less than 6 times while we're there.

DO NOT EAT HERE! Went for dinner on 10/19/24. The decor is very nice however it was difficult to have conversation with how loud the band was. We ordered 3 appetizers, 1 of which we had to send back. The other two were just ok. Prior to ordering our main dishes we saw there’s a sanitation rating of 88/100 and that they received this rating on 10/16/2 from the Mecklenburg County Department of Health due to numerous health violations including the presence of BUGS, FLIES, and half eaten food stored in the freezer. DO NOT EAT HERE!! We were also charged for the incorrect bill.

We have been excited to try Muraya since seeing the tiktoks about the chocolate dessert. My friend was turning 40 so we booked a table. We were so pleased with the service, the server was attentive and knew how to navigate the menu to make the most out of our experience. The food presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. The pesca del dia ceviche was flavorful and light, a great starter to what ended up being a veritable smorgasbord of deliciousness. We had the chorizo tacos, the pollo campanero, pork belly and the yucca fries and every item arrived beautifully. The only thing I will say is that the breading on the chicken was a little overhanded, but the flavor was excellent. They did a nice birthday song for her and the dessert presentation was every bit as fantastic as the tiktok suggested.

We chose a good weekend to come. It was the 1 year anniversary and it was an amazing celebration! Our food, drinks and service was great! Will definitely be back!
