Muoi Tieu is a cozy family-run Vietnamese restaurant and market in the heart of Takoma Park, Maryland, with a small but carefully curated menu that offers a combination of popular Vietnamese dishes (e.g., pho, spring rolls) and less common home-style dishes (e.g., braised pork belly, pan-fried fish with ginger nuoc cham) with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. Our small market also offers a variety of common Vietnamese condiments, pantry items, and Asian snacks. Like our name, which means "salt and pepper" in Vietnamese, our concept is simple: we want to bring classic, savory Vietnamese food to our community.

I want this restaurant to succeed! Service was stretched to the limit—it took over 30 minutes for our appetizers to arrive and one entree came before the appetizers. Our food was very good and tasty. I will go back at a calmer less busy time!

Great addition to the Takoma Park dining scene. Food is healthy and delicious, and the servers are really nice. Only wish one could walk in without a reservation on a Monday night!

Everything was great except for the Thai iced tea, which was canned & not as good as fresh brewed.

Exquisite dishes, marvelous flavors, artfully plated. Clean and modern setting with a congenial little bar, a few outdoor tables, attentive service. Highly recommend the crepe, branzino, fern cakes, fried chicken, steak, flan. Many great vegan options. Cute selection of Asian snacks for sale in the grocery shelves, and both homemade regular and vegan fish sauce in the refrigerator section.

Waited an hour for appetizers after ordering. Had four different servers and none seemed to know how to offer professional service. Food did not live up to reviews. Left hungry. Too bad because seemed like owner cared but they just didn't seem to know basics about service.

The beautifully renovated space (formerly the beloved Mark’s Kitchen) is just perfect for this new Vietnamese restaurant. The very reasonably priced food is tasty and satisfying, and the wait staff quite attentive. The only drawback was that they were out of 2 of the 3 sakes on the menu. Just another reason to go back! Highly recommended, just be sure to make a reservation.

Home style Vietnamese cooking. The Fern Cakes are great. This is a terrific place to enjoy a good meal with friends without pressure or distraction. Dining as it was meant to be rather than indulgence and performance.
