Our day trip to Margate, we wanted to end with some good food and came across Mullins. Looking at the menu it wasn’t a question we booked in. Offer of food was good and we were not sure what to order as it all looked good. I ordered a traditional chicken roti with rice and peas and plantain my partner ordered the special which was snapper. I was so disappointed to find that when the roti arrived it was a tortilla bread with chicken roti inside and was served with chips and salad. Not a traditional roti at all. When questioned I was told this is how they always served it. I sent it back and got jerk chicken instead. The jerk chicken was not jerk but seasoned with pepper and the chicken clearly hadn’t been marinated prior as it had no flavour. The rice and peas were bland and you couldn’t taste the coconut. My parents snapped also was just seasoned with pepper but no marinade. It was a joy to come across such a restaurant but really disappointing that there were no Caribbean flavours to speak of. Service was also slow.

As always...brilliant food, customer service and a relaxed and comfortable setting. This remains one of my favourite restaurants and never disappoints ❤️

We went as two vegans - we were wonderfully catered for and the staff was so nice when talking with them prior to going to organise a candle in the desert to celebrate my partners birthday. Food was amazing, would go back definitely.

The food was delicious and well presented, the staff were polite and efficient and the surroundings were lovely, will definitely be going back 🙂

Another great lunch with my friend. Mullins is our go to lunch spot. Lovely food and great value. The only thing my friend mentioned was when we ordered coffees there was no caramel syrup which was available previous times. Could you look to having some? But that won’t stop us coming back.

We are seasoned Caribbean food diners so we can be very picky on this cuisine but I can honestly say it was one of the best we’ve had! My only criticism is whoever is dishing up, need to take more care as 3 of us had the curry goat and for £18 I barely had any meat on my plate!! Sent it back to request more but it’s not a great first impression! I would go back having said that as the food is outstanding! We sat outside as we were there for the Soul weekender so noise level was moderately high but great for us!!
