Rising star Executive Chef Colin Sato has redefined the Mugen dinner experience with his new five-course menu, designed in collaboration with Pastry Chef Jamon Harper and in consultation with renowned Chef Alan Wong. Featuring seasonal and local ingredients, diners can choose from myriad options within each course while sipping inventive cocktails or exploring wine from Mugen’s extensive collection, honored with the Wine Spectator "Best Of" Award.

"Immerse yourself in the splendor of a Hawaiian sunset from our rooftop poolside venue, offering a breathtaking panorama of Waikiki. Please note that the visibility of the setting sun varies throughout the year, and while the sky will remain beautifully lit up, the setting orb of the sun may be partially obscured, offering a unique and intimate ambiance.” Minimum Two guests ($280 for two): One ounce Golden Osetra Caviar - (serves two), Includes two glasses of Louis Roederer "Collection 244" Brut Champagne, cured egg yolk, chives, creme fraiche, shallots, smoked sturgeon pate, taro chips, and buttermilk blinis. The first seating at 5:30 pm invites you to sip Champagne as you watch the final sunset of 2024 from our stunning rooftop venue, followed by a sumptuous five-course dining experience. The second seating at 9:00 pm offers an exquisite five-course dinner, leading into a Champagne toast and a spectacular fireworks display at midnight.

Took my partner for a fancy birthday breakfast. The ambiance was amazing. The staff was amazing. The food was amazing. It was a very good experience.

For an exclusive and intimate experience in Waikiki, Chef Jamon is a culinary master!! Subtle flavors, beautiful presentation, wide selection of teas and savory —> sweet tastings make for a wonderful gathering with loved ones.

Absolutely pitch perfect. One outstanding dish after another. We eat out a lot and Mugen holds its own with 1 and even 2 Michelin starred restaurants—it even surpasses quite a few of them. Hands down this is the best restaurant we’ve found on Waikiki and the wine list is truly exceptional. If you get a chance to order their locally sourced oysters, do it! The were exceptionally good. Many thanks to Chef, sommelier Douglas, and server Sherri (and so many others I don’t know the name of). We had a delightful gastronomic adventure and can’t wait for our next one!

This was our second trip to Mugen. Wes Zane's team continues to set the mark for Waikiki's fine dining. Our six course dinner was skillfully prepared and expertly served my Shari. Shari deftly guided us through our culinary experience. She explained each dish and provided recommendations on the order that the course elements should be eaten. Douglas, the Sommelier, was delightful. He has exceptional knowledge of wine and Hawaiian history. We were so impressed with our meal that we secured a reservation for New Year's Eve.

One of the best meals I've ever had and, perhaps, the best service I've ever experienced. Our server (Sherri) was AMAZING. She not only knew everything about every dish served (and it was a tasting menu so there were plenty of dishes) but she knew about ever serving dish, piece of cutlery, and table decoration! She was superior. Mugen is expensive but, at least for me, it was well worth the money because it is so much more than a meal; it is an experience.

Dining at Mugen was an outstanding experience both in terms of food and service. The echelon of excellence at this Oahu restaurant is on par with a San Francisco fine dining establishment.

A unique experience in dining! Service was superb and food choices exquisite. Delicate dishes graced our palates. The attention from the staff was superb! I’ll be back again!

If you want to go to one fine dining establishment while in Honolulu, Mugen is it! An intimate, well designed dining room sets the tone. The service is friendly and very professional. Every dish that was served was perfect. This six course dining experience was exceptional. Try the foie gras sandwich...simply the best. All of the service staff and a visit from the chef made the visit a memorable evening. If Michelin ever starts reviewing Hawaii restaurants, Mugen would earn three stars!
