A Family Tradition For Over 80 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

We were seated very quickly for the Senior Buffet. The food was hot and delicious. Only issue was the buffet ran out of plates.

The food was great ,, but your staff was amazing ! The check in woman was very understanding to our tardiness , and worked it out for us ,, and the waitress woman was stellar ! I will definitely return as long as u have staff like these women!! And the same level Of food !

Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner is a staple and a must when looking for good food while at Knott's Berry Farm. Food is fantastic and the service and ambiance goes right in line with the theme of Knott's Berry Farm.

most of the food, especially the chicken, seems to have improved since I was here last in 2021. that said, the room in which we were sat, was noisier than an airport cafeteria, and the service was pretty poor. Not unfriendly, just completely ambivalent. The corn was overdone and mushy, and tasted strange, the biscuits were delicious, though some of them were a little overdone. And the server got my order wrong and didn’t bother to come back, so I was never able to ask him to fix it. Overall, still, a pretty good value, and a nice tradition for southern Californians.

First time using Open Table very convenient and seems to work well with this restaurant. I’ve been coming to Mrs. Knotts Chicken Restaurant since 1986, Knotts Berry Farm since 1975. The last time I was here was 2014 and the restaurant has grown in size but it’s exactly the same family style food. I understand why it gets some bad reviews. Don’t come here with the expectation that you’re going to get a 5 star dining experience. It’s fried chicken dinner just like mom use to make and it’s delicious and it’s like eating at grandmas house. Portions are huge lines are long so make reservations. When it’s busy the staff gets overwhelmed but please don’t take it out on them. Would like to see management up the staff especially on weekends and holidays. Bottom line, this place is an institution to So.Cal and it deserves a lot of respect and recognition for how long it has been continuously running. And to have the food taste exactly the same as it did as I remember from 1986 is really amazing to me. Don’t forget to get the Boysenberry Pie for dessert!!!

The service and food was wonderful! They have Breakfast on selected weekends, and we wanted to try it! The only downside is that they open at 8 a.m., and the parking lots weren't open yet, so I had to park on the street. My guess is that they open at 8, so if you go, you may want to wait until 8:30 if you make a reservation. Other than that, we love going there and look forward to coming back!

The chicken entrees and the biscuits were GREAT (we had the fried chicken and the chicken & dumplings; the sides (corn, cabbage and the pre-meal salads) were VERY average and kind of bland. If the sides could match the entrees in quality, we'd dine there more frequently. Our server was EXCELLENT and very attentive.
