A Family Tradition For Over 80 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

The food and service were as amazing as ever. I ordered the Chicken Dinner and ate everything. The service was amazing.

The food was okay, but seemed like it’s now trading on reputation alone. It was fine. Probably won’t go again.

Very disappointed that the quality of food has gone down! This used to be an amazing restaurant with delicious food. The chicken breast was over cooked and the rhubarb was under cooked. The boysenberry pie tasted off. At least the biscuits and mashed potatoes still tasted great.

Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant has been around since 1934, which is 90 years. I have been going here for 60 years. The meals all come with soup, salad, and pie. I recommend the chicken and dumplings. It's located right outside the gate to Knott's Berry Farm.

We wanted to try something different for lunch. Made reservation day before, from the start everyone was great and nice. Restaurant was clean and beautiful. Our waitress she was excellent and service was fast and food was great tasting. Can't wait to go back.

Renee, our server was awesome! Very accommodating! Ordered the onion ring starter, so, so good! Also had chicken lunch ~ just awesome!

First timer! Took my son for his birthday and we had a wonderful experience. Definitely make a reservation! Wasn't thrilled about the prices UNTIL I saw how much food we got! Wow! Dinners came with soup, salad, the entree and dessert but biscuits! Very happy with our server, Melinda. She was on top of everything, was very nice and even signed my son's birthday shirt! The Boysenberry Punch was delicious and the chicken noodle soup was amazing! My only complaint would be the hostess wasn't all that pleasant but maybe she was having a bad day🤷‍♀️.

Had the 2 piece chicken dinner. Yummy and not greasy at all. I had the soup, cabbage and of course the famous Boysenberry pie. Our server was Michael. He was very attentive and gave us first class service.
