A Family Tradition For Over 80 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

I am grateful for the excellent service I received from ASHLEE at the Knotts Chicken Restaurant. She was very professional and helpful with all requests. Also, I am disable and received excellent service from the Electric Wheelchair office. They were awesome. I found your ground staff to be very helpful in guiding me and my family to the right attractions. I truly enjoyed my visit to KNOTTS BERRY FARM.

Food tasted very mediocre and low quality. Service was bad. Enjoyed the nostalgia, but that’s about it.

10/10 everyone loved their food. We had the chicken dinner, spicy chicken sandwich, and chicken and waffle.

Our family had a very tough week so we came to Knotts to have a fun filled day with the kids. We quickly grew hungry and were able to find a last minute reservation. We arrived and were sat immediately. Vanessa our waitress was super nice and attentive. Thanks Megan for the yummy drinks. The food was delicious as usually you CANNOT go wrong with Mrs Knotts Chicken Dinner. It come with a soup AND salad, an extra side AND pie a la mode!!! We even had some to take home. Did I mention how good the biscuit and boysenberry jam are ???!!!!!

Between the cabbage and the corn sides, stick with the cabbage. The corn was extremely bland, watery. The rest of the meal is "on point". Soup is amazing! Rhubard as good as always. The chicken crispy and not overdone. Remains one of our special treats when family is visiting!!

I e been coming here 60+ years and it has really gone downhill. Very sad. Service not very good and food not so good either (first time ever)! Bartender was excellent, even though busy!!

Service: Excellent. Our waitress, Nicole, was attentive, helpful, and sweet. Food: Good. Chicken soup, chicken and dumplings were excellent. Chicken parmesan with broccoli and penne pasta was good. Chicken tenders with fries and salad was ok. Loved the biscuits with boysenberry jam! Ambience: OK. We were seated near the bar at 1pm on a weekday - probably should have asked for a window seat in a different part of the restaurant. Overall: We enjoyed ourselves, but we'll probably skip it the next time we go to Knott's.

Love the food and the best boysenberry margaritas the best server she was excellent she was always checking on us our food was amazing and quick will always go back for me ….

My mom and I were able to return after 3 years to have Mrs. Knotts Fried Chicken dinner plate. It wasn't the same. The chicken was delicious, the small side salad and cup of soup were good. But the so called "biscuits" were no longer the same biscuits of three years ago. They are are now just simple dinner rolls. The jam that came with the dinner rolls was watery. What happened to the jam of before? The mashed potatoes weren't tasty. They pour a really sweet "gravy?" over them which made them too sweet to eat. Lastly, the apple pie was disappointing, it didn't taste like apple pie at all. There was no apple flavor, it was bland. You could buy better apple pies at the supermarket. Who is preparing this food? It wasn't the same experience we had three years ago. Not sure we will be returning. Maybe just go to the take out to order the fried chicken only.
