A Family Tradition For Over 80 Years

Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes.

Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.

Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. Thank you in advance for understanding and we are in this together.

    Had the buffet and none of it was hot. Soup was mildly warm although very tasty. Chicken was dry. Mashed potatoes were barely room temp and gravy wasn’t good at all. Maybe had we come earlier in the day things might have been better. We had to ask our server for silverware and napkins so we could eat our meal. The lightning in the room was too dark and the noise of others talking bounced off the walls. Not your normal experience at all.

    Had to ask 4 times for silverware and napkins. Food was mostly cold - potatoes were dried clump. Waitress ignored us completely. Never offered drinks. Asked several times for our check. Got ignored so we just estimated and left cash on the table. Filed a complaint with Knott’s due to horrible food and service. Did not have everything listed for the buffet.

    We were over-charged an extra $20-APPROX. FOR 2 SR. BUFFETS ($56-) $12-FOR SOFT DRINKS. YOU WERE OUT OF LEMONADE, APPLE PIE,AND I HAD TO WALK WITH DIABLED PERSON WITH CANE FROM FRONT ENTRANCE OF RESTAURANT TO ALL THE WAY IN BACK OF RESTAURANT IN 85 DEGREE HEAT WEATHER. CHICKEN COULD'VE BEEN WARMER.

    Had a wonderful time! Kelly, our server was amazing! Happy, Energetic and attentive! She made the meal all the better!

    Big disappointment. The best part of the meal was the biscuits. Knotts boysenberry jam isn’t the same. Has a funny taste. The pie was awful. Nothing like it used to be. Salad tasted bitter. Potatoes tasted instant. Gravy bland. Corn tastes canned. Cabbage was dry. Raising Canes and Disneyland chicken is 100% better. Even Chick-fi-La is better. It tasted reheated and old.

    The service was great but they were slammed as it took a while to get boxes and refills as the staff was so busy. They were great as they kept checking in to remind us it was coming. The food was great as usual and staff Tha ked us for making time as this was a fast lunch and shop visit before heading home to AZ.
