Contemporary Japanese Izakaya & Saké bar!

Izakaya (居酒屋), made up of three Kanji symbols translates as stay, drink, place. It represents an informal bar where friends & family meet, a comfortable setting where you can really settle in and enjoy food & drinks in a casual style. Izakaya style, unlike a traditional restaurant is fun, vibrant & relaxed, dishes come to your table as they are ready, they are meant to be shared.

Using traditional Japanese methods & the freshest seasonal ingredients we serve small dishes, pairing perfectly with our speciality drinks, especially Saké & our imported Japanese craft beer selection.

Come join us, kick back and relax, our bartenders will prepare our signature cocktails for you and talk you through our extensive Saké list, whilst our talented chef’s prepare your dishes with passion using both locally sourced produce & speciality ingredients imported from Japan.

We are on the main street of Chevron Island, a short distance from Surfers Paradise.

Mr. Kojima ticked every box for service for food quality and quantity and for ambience we enjoyed our experience there and would recommend it to anybody looking for beautiful food and a great atmosphere.

Mr Kojima never disappoints !! We have eaten there on a number of occasions and the food & service is outstanding. The “feed me” option is exceptional value with all 7 or 8 courses varied and delicious. Could not recommend more highly !!

I’ve dined here several times & we are always impressed with the delicious food & service. Friendly staff. It’s our go to restaurant whenever we go to a show at HOTA. Thank you.

Went with a group of 6 & opted for Omakase menu because I hate ordering food with groups. Problem was - one person wasn’t a meat eater. Lots of places won’t entertain an odd order in a group share menu. Have to say that the Mr Kojima crew went over & above. They catered perfectly with no issues & every single dish was sensational. For $65 a head the quantity & quality was terrific. Great job Mr Kojima!

Wow, such a fabulous restaurant. Incredibly delicious food and wonderful staff make this and a five star experience. I have been twice in the last few weeks and have rebooked to visit again in 2 weeks and try more of their fabulous food. Highly recommend the banquet as it was great to try different dishes and there was plenty of food to enjoy
