Located at the Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel, Mr.D's serves a modern American menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Executive Chef Michael St. John and his award-winning culinary team.

Guest favorites include our Skillet breakfasts, Drunken Goat Cheese Salad, Pancetta Wrapped Shrimp and Desmond Bread Pudding. Happy Hour is 4:30-6:30PM daily with small plate specials and $2 off draft beers, wines by the glass and listed specialty cocktails. Weekend Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday featuring delicious specials such as Filet Eggs Benedict and Cinnamon Swirl Pancakes.

Food was fair at best - ordered eggs Benedict the poached eggs were hard boiled, potatoes had little flavor, and service was SLOW and rude! I think I would pick somewhere even if it was free.

Excellent service in a quiet comfortable setting. Food was prepared and plated with exceptional skill. Great choice of starters as well as entrées. Something for everyone. Would definitely recommend and will return again.

The food was delicious, and the service was awesome. Not only do we stay at the Desmond when in the area, but we dine at Mr. D's as well.

We had fantastic professional wait service. The food and drinks and desserts were excellent. We were allowed to sit at the table and engage in conversation without feeling like they needed to rush us out. It was a perfect meeting place for 4 college friends who come from different areas of NYS to meet once a year. I highly recommended eating there and enjoying the quiet ambiance.

Service was slow & understaffed. Arrived early for our reservation. Another couple was waiting & there was no room to sit, so we decided to have drinks at the bar. Reminded them twice at check in to please mark us here for Opentable reservation so we don’t get penalized. After being sat at table we waited quite a while for our order to be taken & even longer for food to arrive. Unfortunately only 1 waiter in our section & he seemed to be having an off night. Food was a bit bland & disappointing & again took a very long time to get our bill. This morning I received an email from Opentable that I was a no show! Very frustrated

Apparently it was an off night, short staffed, bar got chinsy with drink so everything took a cery long time

Staff didn’t greet quickly, the place wasn’t busy. Looked at the bookings for several seconds, then were like … ok . The waitress then escorted us t our table. She was friendly, not over the top. No food suggestions. Prices were good . Food came out in a timely manner but, because it was so COLD in there , my burger was very cold by the second half. That was a huge downfall in my grading of your place. I almost froze to death and, then my food became cold way too fast.
