    Exceptional value for a fantastic meal. Generous sizing, quality meals cannot fault. Service was great, friendly and pleasant. Will return again and again.

    Our recent visit to MPD Steak Kitchen in Caulfield was, as always, nothing short of exceptional. This restaurant never fails to deliver, and this visit was no exception. We began our meal with an entrée of Kingfish, accompanied by spiced buttermilk, avocado, cucumber pickle, and fish roe. The presentation was stunning, and the flavors were fresh and well-balanced. The spiced buttermilk added a nice depth to the dish, and the cucumber pickle brought in just the right amount of acidity to enhance the delicate Kingfish. To our surprise, the kitchen treated us to a complimentary serving of garlic focaccia, paired with whipped feta and olive oil. The bread was perfectly baked, warm, and fragrant, while the whipped feta was light, creamy, and perfectly seasoned. For the main course, we opted for the Red Gum Creek eye fillet, cooked medium rare—truly the best way to enjoy it. The steak was tender and juicy, seared beautifully with a slight char, and paired perfectly with a side of classic Béarnaise sauce. Every bite melted in the mouth, showcasing the quality and care that went into the preparation. Dessert was an indulgent choice: the apple tarte tatin with vanilla bean ice cream. The pastry was delightfully caramelized and crisp, while the apples were soft and flavorful, beautifully balanced by the creamy, aromatic vanilla bean ice cream. It was the ideal sweet ending to a perfect meal. Special mention goes to the outstanding staff, Jasmine and Joe, who consistently elevate the dining experience. Their friendly demeanor and attentive service make each visit feel personalized and memorable. MPD Steak Kitchen is truly a gem, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

    The staff were amazing, attentive it is a lovely environment. As it was a special occasion, we chose a better cut of steak. It was overcooked and a little dry. We ordered seafood linguine. There was more oil than expected and it was an unusually small serving for a main course. On the website, the picture of the linguine looks appetising and presented beautifully however it was disappointing with no love. There was an excessive amount of green garnish however the red caviar was missing. We ordered multiple sides and they were delicious however the main courses were a let down. When I made the booking I advised it was my husbands 50th. It would have been a nice touch if they wished him. The stand out are the wait staff.

    We had the best experience here last night, the food was amazing, the staff were amazing, the venue is absolutely gorgeous. We will definitely be back when we want another amazingly cooked steak!

    Unfortunately there's very little to positively say except the young waitress tried her best to answer and excuse the terrible experience. This is an expensive steak house, with a $40-$150 price range for a variety of steaks. We chose the porterhouse for $40 and eye fillet for $56. Sides were extra. In short: Al 5 meat dishes were cold. Clearly not off the grill. The triple-cooked fat cut chips that came with the steaks were soggy and tasteless The side (Caesar salad) for $13 was 4 pieces of lettuce leaves with a squeeze of bottled sauce and a hard-boiled egg thrown on top. Those that didn't order meat ordered the prawn linguine - absolutely dry, tasteless and the again, even the hungry teenagers wouldn't eat it. We ordered entrees - - Popcorn chicken was over fried in oil that they were too dry for even hungry teenagers to eat. - Saganaki that was not fresh, meaning, the cheese was hard as a rock. This dish, when fresh, is melty, like cooked cheese should be. - Octopus, soft but there was more sauce on the plate than meat. The kind waitress couldn't be of much help, and when we asked to speak to the Chef she told us his reply was that his meat wasn't cold. We asked him to come out and speak to us, and try the food, but instead he took off for his break. The environment was terrible. Traditional sub-eastern music was playing in the kitchen, loudly enough for those in the restaurant to hear. A really weird vibe, terrible quality of food, and never-to-be-repeated experience.

    Food amazing especially for the price. $45 3 course express lunch - popcorn chicken, 300gm Porterhouse and Dessert. Amazing value and overall a great experience.
