Movida at Hotel Madrid offers an exceptional dining experience, blending authentic Spanish flavors with modern flair in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. From the crispy, perfectly spiced patatas bravas to the earthy mushroom Tosata, every dish was a delight. The standout paella was a symphony of saffron-infused rice and tender seafood, showcasing the chef’s skill in balancing traditional Spanish cuisine with contemporary presentation. The attentive service, knowledgeable staff, and excellent wine selection further elevated the experience, making Movida a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Spain. Highly recommended!

The only bad thing during our experience at Movida was the wait. We had reservations, but it was still an hour to be seated (this is NOT a regular occurrence per many staff). We had time, so we went and grabbed a drink while we waited. I have to say it was worth the wait. We sat outside. The food was excellent, and the waitstaff was great. We couldn't decide between getting tapas or paella, so we ordered paella to go. The timing for our unlimited tapas was perfect. I cannot pick one plate that was my favorite since there were so many delicious ones. The sangria was one of the best I've had.

We decided to order the unlimited Tapas option because we had a hard time deciding which of the many delicious-sounding dishes to order. We chose a few things from each section of the menu and all but one of the dishes was amazing. Empanadillas, Croquetas, Tostas, Meatballs, Garlic Shrimp - all were beautifully prepared and absolutely fantastic. And the Jamon - it was the best I've ever had . If you're a fan of those packaged sliced cured hams like prosciutto, you will swoon over the Jamon here! Cocktails were all on the sweet side - we had to ask for some lime slices to cut the sweetness. I had the Sangria flight; the tequila and white Sangrias were wonderful, after squeezing some lime into each of them. The red Sangria was more like mulled wine - very sweet with lots of cinnamon. I saved it for dessert. Service was outstanding throughout the meal. We really enjoyed it all and can't wait to go back.

The food was just ok. Proper or even close to proper txakoli wine service is what we expected from a place specializing in all things Spanish, that was not delivered.

Dining at Movida (one of our favorite restaurants) on 9/15/24 we had the very worst experience at Movida. My sister was visiting from New Jersey her first trip to Milwaukee and I wanted to take her to our favorite restaurant due to the wonderful service, exquisite ambience, and delicious food. We have experienced in the past. On this night, when we entered the restaurant, we were told that there was a private party (we We’re not called in advance to be told of the private party. If we had been, we would have changed our plans to another night ) and we would have to be seated in the old part of the restaurant which was small very old and had a very old smell to it. It was sort of disgusting we were curious why no one was eating in the restaurant only to find out there was outdoor seating which we were never offered by the hostess. She actually seemed annoyed when I told her that I was upset that we were not informed of the private party. I called management to explain the situation to them and the manager. Maddy only offered her apologies and said she hopes that we would come back and have a wonderful experience that we were custom to. She also agreed that they should have notified us. I found her apology insincere. Needless to say, this is poor management and a very poor way of handling the situation with a frequent customer who had a very, very bad experience.

Menu is limited. The noise level is horrendous. The toastas are Texas toast with sparse toppings like mushrooms and crab. Street noodles good flavor. Garlic shrimp tasty but small shrimp and small shrimp in street noodles. A good place for one drink and appetizer in my opinion. Miss their old menu. This is meant to be constructive but we spent a lot and left hungry.
