We were early for our reservation and they sat us right away. We shared the soup and the cashew cheese brulee and they were outstanding! For dinner we had the risotto and the halibut and would order both again! Our server was delightful and personable. Shout out to Vince! We were seated by the windows and I was cold but it's the mountains, so I just warmed up with a coffee :)

We ordered Buffalo steak with mashed potatoes. The food was delicious. More importantly, our waiter, Nico was great! Very impressed with the service and the food.

The server was slow and made a lot of excuses. My husband’s meal was good, he had the romaine salad and buffalo steak. My meal was terrible. I ordered the tomato tart, it was not a tart, it was a crostini with cherry tomatoes and frozen cheese ball on top. I sent it back. I got the greens salad with cherries and goat cheese, it was okay. Then I got the mushroom risotto, it was bland, not really a risotto, more like a stodgy baked rice dish. They don’t do vegetarian meals well here. I would not recommend this place. Actually I would say skip Emerald Lake altogether and enjoy the lodge at Moraine Lake. Much better food and service and the lodge is a thousand times better, cleaner, everything.

Was booked in for 6.45pm 17th September was sent 4 emails about turning up on time is a must. Turned up and was told that the water was not working so could not cook anything. Then because this is the only restaurant in the area I had to go 37km to get some food and 37km back to the hotel. Staff had no B plans to help and the young staff girl was left alone to give feedback. So in the end we got back to the hotel at 11pm. If someone rang us before we turned up we would have made different plans. Would not return to this restaurant. No compensation was given. Very poor service.

Whilst staying at the hotel we visited the Restaurant twice, and eat off the menu in the lounge as well, reasonable choice on the menu so not a problem. The food was good and the staff attentive. A good choice particularly if you’re staying at the hotel. They do get busy so book in advance.

Dinner : food was excellent. Service poor. Service worse that it wasn’t busy. Value wasn’t great for the price. Even decent service would have drastically changed the experience. Breakfast next day : avoid the breakfast buffet. Food was lacking, service was terrible. It’s a buffet that was the only close option for hotel guests. The buffet was poorly stocked with numerous items missing. The “hot” food wasn’t. The “cold” food wasn’t. It took another server to get our bill when we were done because our server disappeared. I didn’t include the breakfast in the dinner rating. 0/5 for breakfast.

Our mains were really delicious: chicken (needed extra cooking time) and elk. We also had a really tasty meal in the bar the previous evening. Service was excellent. Hard to believe that the poor breakfast buffet came from the same kitchen!

Probably the best dinner we have had on a two week holiday in Canada. The menu was excellent, something for everyone! Our waitress, Eden, was excellent and knowledgeable and looked after us really well even though the restaurant and bar were very busy . The wine list is good too, plenty to chose from. We also had cocktails to begin with which were excellent! I would thoroughly recommend booking well in advance.
