                                                                                    Second time dining at Moshulu. First time was nearly a year ago and was wonderful. Last night on July9th, 2024 was not very good. Primary concerns were a poor wine recommendation by the server after finding my first choice was not available. I didn't have my Vivino ap available to check so I asked for his recommendation on a dry rose and his recommendation ended up being an effervescent and sweet rose that was more like a champagne. I ordered swordfish and specified that it should be rare in the middle and I was served a piece of fish meat that was thoroughly cooked all the way through and surprisingly tough. The manager offered to discount the bill but I told him I was not looking for a discount but simply wanting to provide information leading to an improved experience for Moshulu diners. Would I go back there again? Probably not which is unfortunate because Moshulu offers such a unique dining experience. However, the quality and appropriateness of what one eats and drinks takes priority over atmosphere. Perhaps my year between Moshulu dining has resulted in staff changes resulting in my negative experience. I will look at upcoming Moshulu reviews to see if there is consistency in diners having a pleasant experience.

                                                                                    Very hot when we arrived (98 degrees), so we sat inside. Food was great, service was great! Prices acceptable for this level of restaurant. Ate off the separate vegetarian menu. After dinner, we went up on deck to look around. It had cooled down a lot, and several people were dining outside (dusk). People and staff were dressed much more casual. Yacht rock type of music was playing. I would have preferred that vibe, but not the heat.

                                                                                    Hey, your waitress was either poorly trained or just not cut out for the job. We ordered 5 bowls of lobster bisque, almost $100 of soup, yet no bread was even offered. When asked she brought one small square bread for $9 but no knife to cut it, she ran off before we coukd catch her, ww got her back anf asked for a serrated bread knife but she just brought another butter knife. And the tip was built into the bill not giving us a choice, 20%, and 3% more if we use a CC, that is tacky. And finally she cleared the dishes with a clattering and noise that was a bit ridiculous, like she was back in the kitchen.

                                                                                    The food and service were excellent. We had a great view of the Delaware River and the ambience was very nice. It is a bit pricey there because we spent around $250 with the tip included for 3 people. However, it was worth the cost as the food was great and contained nice size portions and we could actually taste the liquor in the alcoholic drinks. We were celebrating my sister's birthday and they even gave her a small birthday sweet treat for free. It was an overall fantastic experience!

                                                                                    Waiter wasn't paying attention when we ordered and listed allergies. One of the food requests we made was ignored. Waiter seemed out of it in general - couldn't remember the specials. Food was between good and very good. I'd say for this type of restaurant, the food was nothing special, but the prices were no exorbitant. Nice experience on the boat and the atmosphere was pleasant. Not sure I would do repeat experiences. Good for taking guests from out of town.
