I usually dine at Morton’s Palm Beach on S. Flagler Dr. But tonight we dined at Morton’s in Hackensack. Wow, from the beginning starting with our server Marquee, who is what any restaurant wants working for them. To the food that was cooked perfectly, to the rest of the staff - everything was outstanding.

Waiter was excellent. Appetizers were good the steak….Ive had better mostly fat/fibrous tissue for the bone in ribeye.

Excellent cuts of meat and preparation. Portions were great, as well. However, the sides were extremely lackluster. The creamed spinach was salty, and the loaded baked potato was undercooked with a completely hard center. Service was OK (not outstanding, but no complaints, just nothing extra). Our waitress did comp the two sides that were an issue, so that's great. Their famous desert, the lava cake, is subpar at best. Ambiance is excellent. I’d return, but not particularly excited to do so.

This was my first visit to this location having dined at many other Morton's over the years. We had an early reservation. They sat us near the kitchen. At first I thought it would be nice to watch the activity behind the glass of the kitchen. Unfortunately, that is also where the servers congregated, when not waiting tables and their conversations were often loud. As the evening went on and the kitchen got busy, the clanking of plates and traffic past our table became annoying. With our main courses expected soon, we simply tried to ignore it. The food was on par with comparable steak houses, the service about the same. My biggest complaint came after I had paid the check and went to use the restroom. I opened the door to a rather small bathroom given the size of the restaurant, only to find a waiting line. I had surmized that these were not all patrons of the restaurant. This was confirmed by one of the men saying "this is a great find and asked the other man with two young boys why they left the door to the mall propped open". I also questioned why the door was left open as if someone were to want to have dinner they would have to walk across the dining room to get to the reception desk. I left without using the restroom. All in all not a terrible experience. If I were to go back I now know where NOT to be seated.

We frequent Morton’s and this location specifically, and we always enjoy our dining experience. Mr. Joe Roken and his staff always make us feel welcomed and the food is outstanding. Thanks again

When I made the reservation, I noted that it was a birthday celebration for my dinner companion. The folks at Morton's couldn't have tried harder to make it an evening to remember! The food was outstanding, but the service was the star of the show. It's certainly not an inexpensive place to dine but in all honesty it was worth every penny. Actually one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in North Jersey. It earned all of its five stars.
