Morton's The Steakhouse est le premier groupe steakhouse du pays ; il s'est fait une spécialité des plats classiques, servant de généreuses portions de boeuf vieilli USDA, de poisson, de homard et de poulet. Some background. I have ordered many times from them on Uber Eats in the last year, and regularly the staff messes up my order: instead of a filet one night, they delivered two baked potatoes; instead of my sister's and my dinner, they only delivered my dinner; every time I've ordered a filet (medium rare), they are literally raw on the inside and had to cook them myself. I had a big business dinner last night for 7 people. While I was hesitant to book at Morton's, I had no other choice since Ruth's Chris closed and Mon Ami Gabi is closed for renovations. I figured maybe their carry out team is just not good. I again was disappointed. Our server Abbey, was wonderful. Other than that, I have nothing good to say. For starters, the place was not crowded, but took 20+ minutes to get our drinks. The appetizers were blah, especially the shrimp dish. Lastly, I was not surprised that my medium rare filet was, of course, once again partially raw on the insider; I ate it because the bar and kitchen took so long, and I was starving. Even the coat check was not professional. When we were leaving the guy pulled out a batch of coats and just laid them out; half the coats were not ours. Thank goodness we were honest and didn't take them all. This restaurant is not worth the money (the tab last night was $1,200, including tip). Sad, because Morton's used to be good. It's now no more than "meh." I guess they key to whatever business success they have is that they are in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency and have a captive audience of business travelers. Can't wait for Mon Ami Gabi to reopen once renovations are done.

David our waiter was great! Our drinks were topped off consistently throughout our meal. Everything came out exactly as ordered. He and the staff were very attentive and the restaurant was busy. We will return! Food was great and perfectly cooked.

New Year's Eve at Morton's Bethesda. Service was very good and we had a nice table. However, over an hour wait between appetizers/salads and the main course. And, we had to send back cream spinach twice because it was cold. (Mortons deducted this from final bill) Because of the delay in serving our steaks (which were very good), we did not have time to stay for dessert.

We made a reservation for a family dinner on Christmas Day about two weeks in advance. We were put in a secondary space outside of the main dining area and while we were eating, the wait staff was breaking down tables, chairs and moving furniture. It was an incredibly disappointing dining experience for the occasion and the price point!

Morton’s has long been one of our favorite steakhouses, anywhere we’ve visited — New York, LA, DC — and this one in Bethesda lives up to the legacy. The food was exceptional and the service attentive. I’d rate it even higher but for two glaring problems. 1. The noise level was really LOUD. We haven’t experienced that at other branches of the chain, so that was disappointing and made comfortable conversational most impossible. 2. This restaurant, located on the ground floor of a busy Hyatt Hotel, does not validate parking. When we asked the server, he cheerfully directed us to the lobby. “The front desk will validate it for you,” he said. No they won’t. That ain’t right. This added another $10 to an already-expensive meal. You can do better, Morton’s.

We went on Christmas Day and our waiter, while pleasant, was obviously very new and inexperienced. He forgot to bring a second drink (but left it on the bill), charged us for desserts that were included in the tasting menu, and was very hard to find throughout our dinner . I know it is difficult to staff restaurants on Christmas Day but it was a disappointment, especially for my first visit (we usually go to Ruth’s Chris).

First—HUGE thanks to the kitchen and wait staff for their great execution on Christmas Day. So grateful for their working on the holiday so I had someplace to celebrate. Second, hubby’s steak was cooked to PERFECTION. My miso fish was excellent. Third, all dark wood and white table cloths set the perfect mood. Could not think of a thing that could be improved!
