Excellent tasting menu - the combination of ingredients really worked and each dish was perfectly cooked and simply presented. The accompanying wines were very well matched with each dish - best wine pairing we have had with a tasting menu - and the overall explanation/introduction as the dishes and wines were served was just right, short and helpful. All the staff were very friendly but also professional. We envy people living in Ludlow having this quality of local restaurant!

From the moment we walked into the sixteenth-century premises, it was clear we were in for a treat. Cocktails at the bar preceded a beautiful Taster Menu dinner. Each of the six courses was a delight: scallop; duck presented three ways; sea trout; beef; and two ice cream desserts. Every mouthful was delicious; the presentation was beautiful; and the servers were wonderful. It's a small restaurant, so very intimate and special. The chef also served super amuse bouches, bread, and handmade chocolates. Our wine was glorious. I would enthusiastically recommend Mortimers to all who appreciate a serene, well-paced, and utterly scrumptious dining experience. Hoorah! (And Ludlow is gorgeous and worth at least a weekend's visit.)

Fine dining for sure. Food generally well conceived and presented, possibly a little light on seasoning or bolder flavour combinations in some instances (but that could be subjective). Wine list short and balance more tilted towards the pricier end than many. Attentive, quite foram service. The place is looking and feeling a little tired, three years on from our last visit, but still offers an experience that is becoming harder to find in Ludlow these days - hopefully it will survive and prosper.

Amazing - We had a fantastic time. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. The personalised Birthday Menu was a really nice touch.

This is a fine dining venue in a traditional setting (white linen, no background music) in historic Ludlow. Food was delicious, and the wine pairings excellent.
