Morella celebrates the gastronomic influences that immigrants from European countries, particularly Spain and Italy, had on Argentinian cuisine in the decades following the mass migrations at the turn of the 20th century. Morella features traditional empanadas, wood-smoked meats, pastas and internationally inspired drinks — all meant to be enjoyed in a bright convivial space. 

Our name, Morella, is a derivative of the word Morel, the earthy, nutty, and rare mushroom that is prized by chefs and restaurant connoisseurs, and is featured selectively in our menu who cousins make appearances in our vibrant decor.

    Amazing restaurant! We were in food heaven. Everything was delicious! From the appetizers to the dessert. Great service. Waiters and waitresses were super attentive. We paid good money and it was worth every penny. We are definitely going back. The short rib was “Melt in your mouth” delicious

    The expresso martini and chocolate gelato were the only items I enjoyed. Everything else was bland.

    It was such a beautiful space, the ambiance is a 10/10. We ordered the Rib Eye & Gnocchi as entrees. The empanada as an appetizer. All were seasoned well, cooked to perfection. Service was great, gave us enough space to chat and not feel rushed at all.

    Does it really take 30 minutes to serve a glass of wine? We asked for leftovers to be boxed and they were thrown away.

    Food was fine, but expensive for what it was. Our server was MIA so our dinner took a long long time. Couldn't take off our coats because it was so cold in there.

    Lamb bolognese was good, very limited veg options. Gelato serving size was small too.

    Loud Gen X’ers and terrible food except for the dessert. Our waiter was completely unfamiliar with the food and had no advice except that she had never tried whatever we asked about. My friend had a respectable Argentine style steak, and I had appalling sweet breads. I was excited to see them on the menu but they were dark, breaded, over-garliced dry turds. Our creamed spinach was made by someone who had heard of it, but never had it.

    Finally was able to check this place out. Had a later Reservation but they were able to accommodate me for being early. The server was very attentive, recommended the Smokin’withPassion cocktail, amazing very balanced could’ve had another one. Ordered a phenomenal Amarone red wine and only $18 a glass normally over $20. Oysters and charcuterie board to start very good although wish charcuterie had some cheese add on options. Dinner I ordered the Picanha med rare great crust cooked on point and asked if I could just have a side of Iberaco ham. Definitely will come back to explore the menu lots more options I wanted to try but was too full.

    I had a distinctly different experience than some of the recent Open Table reviewers did at Morella last night. First peek inside the venue, beautiful! The entire restaurant was eye candy. The team took a few risks on the design (pink ceilings, black and white striped awnings, mismatched chandeliers, etc) and it totally paid off. I felt like I could have dressed up more to dine, but also didn't feel out of place in my hoodie and sneakers. Service was just right. They didn't hover over my table, but seemed to be when needed (which wasn't often as we over ordered right from the start since the menu was appealing! Food was largely on point for my taste. Some reviews mentioned the food might be salty, but it wasn't my experience at all. The Braised Short Rib tasted even better than it looked (and it looks good judging by how many times it's shown up in pictures). The Lamb Bolognese was the best I had (shouldn't have ordered it as a shared item). The Dirty Martini Dip was interesting and flavorful though I likely won't get it every visit. I can only handle one cocktail per meal, so I opted for the refreshing negroni (my favorite). Imagine my surprise when I received two glasses - a balanced negroni and a nearly full glass of rose. Drink each separately or pour the rose into the negroni for a bubbly spin on a classic. My friends were envious. The restaurant was a little chilly, but overheard their heater broke. No big deal to me. Looking forward to coming back and especially looking forward to brunch! 10/10 would recommend.
