Moonshine has the best cheeseburgers in South Boston. Asia (the chef/owner) comes around to every table to make sure everyone is happy with their meals. To me, that is something very special about this restaurant.

As always, Moonshine gave us an excellent evening. The staff are welcoming, and the owner, Asia, is constantly ensuring all customers receive the very best care. I had the surf and turf special; my friend had the hanger steak. Both were perfectly cooked, with unusual sauces and spices. My friend had many allergies (like 15?) and Moonshine is one of the very few restaurants she trusts, as the chef (often the owner) is attentive to requests. We had patio seating and my little dog joined us. Outside is really quiet and peaceful. We could hear happy commotion in the indoor restaurant which would be a fun alternative. Absolutely delicious food. Everyone loved what they ordered: roasted Brussels, kale salad, fried chicken and waffle, rice bowls, and really spectacular waffle Sunday. Will be back certainly. I have to say that I enjoyed this meal more than some meals from Michelin starred restaurants.
