Excellent experience, from the welcoming staff to the unusually creative food, to the special treat for my birthday. We enjoyed several seafood dishes, all with fresh, interesting combinations, and amazing sauces that I will remember for a long time. This place is an easy “Yes” for me!

Pre-fixe menus made to wow you with every course. You won't be disappointed with this experience as long as you understand that Mooncusser is first and foremost a "fish house". While you will find non-fish options on many menus if you're weird about it, look for or ask for the current menu. But I can tell you outright after over a decade following Mr. Carl Dooley and his cooking and staff around that he never fails to impress with his choices and can often make me eat things I just don't like anywhere else. Worth every penny. Great staff. Flexible with sensitivities if you communicate well (ahead of time is nice... and polite, really) and ALWAYS comes up with something amazing. Highly recommend this as a date spot or even a place to bring clients/customers if you're so interested in a place. Otherwise, grab your familiy and friends and go have AN EXPERIENCE at Mooncusser.

Fantastic flavors, with lots of interesting presentations. Wine pairings were also on point. Would def. recommend, whether for a special occasion or a more adventurous meal out!

We had an overall bad experience. We had an 8 PM reservation and didn't get seated until 8:30 PM and the hostesses blamed it on the customer saying that "people were taking their sweet time with dessert", which was a lie. We had 2 cocktails at their bar downstairs while we waited 30 minutes and I was at least expecting those to be on the house or discounted given that we wouldn't have ordered them had we not had to wait 30 minutes. When we finally sat down we heard people complaining about how they had been there for 2 hours and they were only on their 3rd course (of 7!) and one party was there for a total of 4 hours! The kitchen was clearly backed up and the hostesses didn't want to admit it. The food was okey, it was tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary and nothing I will have to go back to eat again. The tasting menu took 3 hours total, which was so exhausting given how much money we paid and how unimpressive the food was. Definitely not worth the wait or expense, will not go back. The servers were very nice and the place is very well decorated.

We visited on the first day of the fall menu. The foods were delicate and creative. It was a long and slow dinner process, too much waiting time between each course, but was a good experience overall.

This experience was amazing. The pre fixe menu was outstanding, and I can't wait to see what the early fall menu change brings. The atmosphere was wonderful - finally, a restaurant with good acoustics, it's not so open and echoey that it's hard to hear the conversation in front of you which sounds stupid but it's true! The service was perfect, fantastic cocktails. The dishes are thoughtful and it's just the right amount of food, I didn't leave stuffed and uncomfortable and I didn't leave at all hungry. Nailed it, the hype is real, now we have to go back for the bar menu.
