Moon Rabbit is a highly-regarded Vietnamese restaurant situated in the heart of Washington D.C., drawing inspiration from the virtuous rabbit depicted in the Buddhist Jataka tale.     A delightful experience all around. Chef, the general manager and our server all ensured we had a wonderful evening, making us feel at home in their beautiful space. The food was spectacular- inventive and surprisingly at every turn. We’ll certainly return in the future. Thanks to the entire team for such a memorable evening.

    Excellent! Kevin knows his stuff. Love the decor, music selection, his twists on traditional Viet food. Kevin looks like a guy you'd play basketball with and you just can't guard him. He seems to be dominating the food scene as well.

    Moon Rabbit is a lovely restaurant with very attentive and friendly staff. The menu is inventive and we tasted some very interesting Vietnamese fusion dishes. The crab and lamb dishes were outstanding as were some of the desserts. The reason for a four star rating on the food is that the restaurant has not figured out how to do a tasting menu properly. All the dishes were served family style so we may as well have ordered from the a la carte menu. Many of the dishes were from that menu anyway. The tilefish main and some of the other dishes were ok but not great. The service was very friendly and sweet but our initial server vanished in the middle of our tasting without letting us know and our table was passed on to someone new who was excellent. All in all the restaurant (food) has potential to be exciting but it is not there yet.

    Best service of any restaurant in DC, and all the food was great! Got the bread, shrimp, and lamb!

    Delicious food and an incredible staff! Each dish and drink that we tried was so flavorful and celebrated so many different textures and techniques. From the host to the bartender to the waiter and even the chefs—everyone was so pleasant and helpful, which made the meal even more delightful! Knowing how expensive eating out can be in DC, this was such a great value for the overall experience. I highly recommend Moon Rabbit to all my friends and family!

    Tremendously inventive & completely delicious food! The tasting menu is a fantastic value. The staff were all kind, friendly & knowledgeable about each dish. The atmosphere was beautiful & buzzing with diners. But, the food was incredible. So layered & complex. My sister is gluten free & you'd never miss it from any of these dishes. Just outstanding. We cannot wait to return. Thank you all for a very memorable meal.

    Our first time back to Kevin's food since he left The Wharf. It was an amazing meal. The two of us shared two small dishes (not really very small) and two entrees. More than enough food. Everything was delicious - great flavor, beautiful presentation, very interesting food. We'll come back until we've had a chance to try everything on the menu. Maybe we'll come back with a group so we can try everything at once!
