Moon Rabbit is a highly-regarded Vietnamese restaurant situated in the heart of Washington D.C., drawing inspiration from the virtuous rabbit depicted in the Buddhist Jataka tale.     This was our second time coming, and once again Moon Rabbit did not disappoint!! The food was delicious and fresh, the drinks were so unique and good, it makes you want to try every cocktail on the menu! Plus, our beautiful waitress, Destiny, was so kind, helpful and attentive. She made our date night extra special :)

    Overall we enjoyed the experience. Service was excellent: attentive but not overboard, informative but not too talkative. Admittedly we didn't come with a full appetite, but the best dish was the Stuffed Leaf - Bo La Lot. I enjoyed the tilefish (especially the coconut curry), but my wife didn't appreciate the consistency. We sat in the bar area, which was active but reasonable for an intimate conversation at a table of 2. Only complaint was that our table was right under a very cold AC vent. Would still recommend!

    The food and atmosphere were excellent. The food was a refreshing and well executed take on Vietnamese food with a slight Louisiana flare. Something that I find a rarity is that the meal got progressively better. The entrees were the best I've had in a while, and the dessert course was so fun and inventive that I felt the urge to clap. This restaurant is truly a DC standout, and I look forward to returning.

    Kevin Tien kept his dishes to his roots but also added his own twist alongside with it. The food was amazing and I appreciate that his meals were very accommodating for multiple dietary restrictions. This is a family style type of restaurant so I highly recommended coming here with four or more people to have a chance to try multiple dishes Moon Rabbit has to offer. However, coming here solo or with two is fine too. The Stuff Wagyu Beef and Cumin Lamb are a must try for anyone visiting. They were the highlights of the dishes we tried out. The staff was very knowledgeable and was very attentive with their services. Destiny was great and made us feel comfortable and offered us a lot of great recommendations through out the meals. Please leave room for desserts. Susan Bae knocked us out with her dessert plates. I highly recommend the “Mushroom” and “Seaweed”. However the Durian is a sleeper and I would recommend it for people who haven’t tried out Durian because they are scared of the smell and taste. It’s a great intro to the fruit without the whole smell.

    We had an amazing dinner at Moon Rabbit! Honestly best restaurant I’ve been to in DC and great ambience. Wait staff excellent!! We did the tasting menu and enjoyed everything!

    Outstanding in every way! The food - stellar. Not a bad thing was served all night. Packed with flavor, vibrant and colorful presentation, and unique offerings. The service - on par with the food. The staff was attentive, deftly described each course, and they were fun to interact with. Chef Kevin even came to hang out at the table. The atmosphere - perfect mix of fancy and kitschy! Five stars in every way. Can’t wait to eat here again.

    An amazing meal- the ambiance, presentation, tastes, and service excelled. One of my favorite dining experiences of all time! My wife and I went for our anniversary. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent. We ordered the “Chef’s Tour of Vietnam” - pescatarian. Outstanding!

    Every time I book through Open Table I get seated the back room where it’s completely empty while there are plenty of open tables in the main room. It’s always so disappointing to be away from the action. That said, our server Tim was wonderful but I couldn’t shake the feeling we were put in the back bc we’re ugly or something.
