Shame on Montrio, paid for 3 wagyu ribeyes and got sliced prime rib. No marbling at all and somewhat tough. Corn ruble was excellent. If they don’t know their cuts of beef then they shouldn’t be able to serve it. Thought we were going to have a great high end birthday celebration , ended when meal arrived.

Had a fantastic evening. Drinks were great, appetizers perfect and main courses were delicious. Then the deserts came and oh my gosh what a finish.

This was the perfect spot for a nice, quiet, and romantic dinner with my wife! We had the chicken and porkchop which were simply amazing, and the chocolate cake capped everything off very nicely! Will definitely return whenever I'm in Monterey!

Pretty good restaurant. Service was a bit rushed, and chicken overcooked. But overall an enjoyable evening.

We had a great time at dinner. Our server was very warm and welcoming. She helped answer any questions with very detailed descriptions. Food was all delicious. Cocktails were inventive and well made. Great experience.

We have been fans of Montrio for a long time, and thier food remains excellent. However, the experience was not as good as the food. Althought there were plenty of empty tables, it took over 10 minutes to seat us at a table while we stood outside. Also, it took a long time for the first courses to arrive, but then the main course arrived before we finished the prior course.

The service was subpar. The food was good, but the male server with a ponytail did not meet our expectations for even a $-rated restaurant. It's safe to say that we won't be celebrating our anniversaries or any other special occasions here again. Considering the price paid, it's advisable to explore other restaurants in downtown Monterey.

Dinner was a birthday celebration between 4 girl friends. MontRio went out of their way to provide over-the-top, exceptional service. The managers stopped by to wish her a happy birthday, and our server was delightfully engaging and very attentive to our table without being a pest. The food was delicious and the restaurant provided us with a celebratory dessert to share. I cannot express strongly enough how perfect our experience was.

We are regulars at Montrio and this time was a reminder why. The service was great. Our server was only attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu and cocktails and able to describe items in ways that were helpful. The food was hot and reliably good. Nice atmosphere. Music was a little loud for the unique acoustics, but we were fine.
