Aloha, we are open daily from 7:00am to 11:00pm and are located on the waterfront of Waikiki Beach inside the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. We accept reservations & reserve a large amount of space for walk-ins. If your desired reservation is not available, please join our waitlist in person daily. Happy Hour is available daily from 3:30pm-5:00pm (excluding select holidays).

Our chef driven concept is led by the classically trained, award winning chef, Peter Merriman. Peter is a culinary pioneer and one of the founders of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. He has always been inspired by the people and products around him and this spirit has lead the movement to look at food in Hawaii in a new light. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman embraces this passion! Each item on the menu demonstrates our commitment to craft and showcases high quality, socially conscious ingredients, creative preparations, and perfect execution.

We recently dined at Monkeypod Kitchen, Waikīkī, hoping for a relaxing evening out, but unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. While the food itself was acceptable, the overall experience was marred by a lack of attention to detail and coordination. To begin, we specifically requested that our appetizers be served first, with the main course to follow after we finished the appetizers. The appetizers arrived promptly, which was a good start, but just a few minutes later, our entrees were brought to the table—clearly out of sequence. We politely sent the meals back, reiterating that we’d like the main dishes served about 20 minutes later, after we finished our appetizers. However, when the mains returned, it was clear they were the same dishes that had been held in the kitchen. The food was lukewarm and unappetizing, prompting us to request fresh meals. To their credit, the kitchen re-prepared our orders, but by the time everything was sorted out, the meal had lost its flow, and the initial frustration lingered. While the staff was polite, the mismanagement of timing and communication was a significant letdown. This restaurant has potential, but they need to prioritize customer requests and improve their service execution to ensure a smoother dining experience.

Beautiful restaurant! Delicious food and attentive service. We ate here on Christmas Day, it was everything I hoped for! Live music and great sunset views. Make a reservation is the only thing that is a must I would say 😊

We joined for Christmas Dinner. The menu was standard, which was appreciated, with many good options. Unfortunately the restaurant is stuffy/hot and uncomfortable and it was too noisy to be able to carry on a conversation. With so many dining options I would not return here.

The food was delicious and we learned that they make everything in their kitchen to the dough for the pizza to even the ketchup.

Great food, great service. The view was amazing.. the restaurant has a casual feeling of being laid back while at the same time being extremely exceptional and professional. And the entire staff team very friendly, which is hard to do for as busy as they are. But thy pulled it off very well being friendly and helpful.

Booked this about a month ago and we were still seated behind a large post so we couldn’t see anything. A group checking in before us without a reservation could have an ocean front table if they waited an hour which we would have been happy to do if we knew that was an option. They forgot our salad and brought it out after the meal, with apologies. The macadamia nut mahi mahi was DELICIOUS, but fish and chips mahi mahi seemed dry. No happy hour prices for drinks, but it was Christmas so I guess that makes sense. $18 drinks were not worth the price. Overall was a bit disappointed on what we’d heard about Monkeypod Kitchen restaurants.

Had a lovely time the table was the best amazing views of the beach. Food was outstanding….seafood to die for!
