Our chef driven concept is lead by the classically trained, award winning chef, Peter Merriman. Peter is a culinary pioneer and one of the founders of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. He has always been inspired by the people and products around him and this spirit has lead the movement to look at food in Hawaii in a new light. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman embraces this passion! We had a wonderful experience with a Valentine’s Day lunch at Monkeypod. My husband got the Mahi sandwich and I got the fish tacos. Both were delicious! We loved our server but didn’t get his name. Always have a great experience here.

Everything about our visit was less than satisfactory. Food was either over or undercooked. Drink pricing was overpriced. Service was adequate at best. I have been to other Monkeypod restaurants in Hawaii and by far this was the worst experience I have had. It is a shame considering the high standard I expect from Merriman.

We have si ed here several times in past years and was expecting a good expert. Started off right as was seated at reservations time. Nice atmosphere but noisy. Kid sitting in booth directly behind us kept bouncing and hitting his head against the booth. Of course the “parents” if you could call them that did nothing to control him. Server friendly and prompt. Cast iron shrimp appetizer was fantastic, unique. Entrees were lukewarm warm. Fish batter thick and not cooked through, doughy. Fish tacos underwhelming and not warm enough. Very disappointed in the quality and flavors. Will consider other restaurants before trying again.

We have delicious meal and decided to go back two days later because we enjoyed it so much great spot and don't miss their Mai Tai's best on the island!

The waitlist option made it super convenient. Our server was amazing! She gave us great recommendations since there were so many delicious menu options. It was hard to choose.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at MonkeyPod. Attentive service, yummy Mai Tais with foam, and a pulled pork and pineapple pizza. We will be back to try more menu options.
