Our chef driven concept is lead by the classically trained, award winning chef, Peter Merriman. Peter is a culinary pioneer and one of the founders of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. He has always been inspired by the people and products around him and this spirit has lead the movement to look at food in Hawaii in a new light. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman embraces this passion! Each item on the menu demonstrates our commitment to craft and showcases high quality, socially conscious ingredients, creative preparations, and perfect execution. Our dedication to craft also extends to our beverage program. Our 36 beers on tap are the coldest on Maui. Overall the idea was good but the execution seemed rushed. We went to ulu the day prior and it was divine. This seemed like a more profit oriented fast paced version

Long wait for pretty mediocre food. For the price and the wait, the food was so so at best. Dishes were salty and oily. Nothing to write home about. That said the Mai tai was fun, the music was great and the hostess and our server were both fantastic. Likely wouldn’t go back / recommend.

Incredible service from Laura the server, killer Mai Tai's, delicious lobster/avocado toast appetizer. The freshmahi was outstanding, the grilled fish special was divine. Surprisingly well priced, great value for money in an elegant / fun vibe!

Sat at the bar because they could get in earlier than our reservation. The vibe is great. Live music was playing. Our server/ bartender was Alex and she was nothing short of delightful! Her smile was contagious and even though she was super busy, she was very engaging. Had fabulous recommendations at the restaurant and other places to try in Maui. This was not our first time there, but Alex made it memorable and I would definitely recommend!! This was dinner with my 2 adult daughters-24&22.

It was a rather cool night, and they have a gigantic fan running. I was sitting there and my hair was blowing all over the place and sticking to my lipstick. I asked him if they could turn it down and he said yes I’ll definitely tell my manager; he said “when it gets hot in here It just keeps the air circulating” -but he even agreed it was very cool. The fan never got turned down. I was freezing eating my food. It was extremely noisy there which necessarily isn’t the fault of the restaurant, the people there were very loud and it was a very casual eating experience. It was about a $200 meal when there was Two adults meals, and one child meal and two appetizers. I found it to be a little overpriced. The food was OK not great. If it was great, I probably would’ve been OK with the price. I don’t think I would come back here.

Fun, lively place but food was uninspiring and lacked flavor. Fries were cold, burger was cooked way past well done when medium rare is preferred. margarita pizza had chunks of cold tomato on it that we removed to find charred basil beneath..Ahi tacos lacked flavor - needed something to punch it up - maybe a wasabi kick. Shrimp skillet was loaded with oil and the cumin was a miss. Best selection was the mahi mahi fish sandwich.

Monkeypod Kitchen at Whalers Village was great. It has a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere, oceanfront views, and friendly, attentive staff. We had a great dinner starting with their famous Mai Tai. The menu is great with something for everyone and better because it was made from locally sourced ingredients. We shared a Handcrafted Pizza, two salads and 2 entries. The banana cream pie and the chocolate cream pie were to die for. Highly recommended!

Noisy, crazy busy, Disney world type vibe. Food was barely edible. No one cared about service or the customer. I suppose business is so good. It just doesn’t matter. We will never go back again.

Great first night dinner in Lahaina. Whalers Village is always lively and Monkeypod is right in the center. Great food, drinks and service.
