With its vaulted ceilings, impressive wine wall and striking open-kitchen, The Monkey Island Brasserie in Bray is the perfect setting for a long lunch, quintessentially English Afternoon Tea or an exquisite dinner.

Afternoon Tea may be enjoyed here or in an entrancing setting with a famous Renaissance ceiling. Cocktails and drinks are served in front of the welcoming fireplace in the stylish bar.

Classic French doors lead out to the picturesque terrace where guests can enjoy outdoor dining whilst admiring the idyllic views of the River Thames.

Please note, dogs are not allow in The Restaurant and Island.

We were taken great care of in the restaurant. Food was special and delicious. They even decorated a plate saying happy birthday which was totally unexpected. Would certainly recommend

We really enjoyed Sunday lunch for a special occasion, good value, superb presentation and generous portions. The staff are super attentive.

Service was shocking. 20 minutes before anyone asked us if we were waiting for anything even though I said I had booked an afternoon tea when I arrived. Then when the food came the scones were underbaked. It then took 25 minutes for new scones to come, at which point we were pretty full from the rest of the food. Food was really nice but the service overall really let the afternoon done. Asked for the bill, at which point they then brought over a Happy Birthday plate for my sister who I had booked the afternoon tea for. It was nice but just 3 chocolates on a plate and all of our dirty plates and cutlery were still on table. Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend which is such a shame as the food and scenery were lovely.

A beautiful dinner which was probably one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. We asked for some amaretto sours and these were the best cocktails we’ve ever tasted too! A very cosy and special evening made possible by the staff at this wonderful place. We just felt so relaxed as soon as we walked in. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!
