Atlas Restaurant Group presents Monarque, a French brasserie located in Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood. Monarque is inspired by the French era of prosperity when culture boomed and extravagance flourished. The food menu is perfectly complemented by a beverage program with over 500 French wine labels and an extensive collection of cognac and armagnac.

Striking a balance between transporting guests to another time and place while being rooted in the present, Monarque hosts an exciting rotation of acts on stage every weekend including dancers, singers, musicians, contortionists, sword swallowers, poets and more.

The restaurant promotes a mature environment with artwork and entertainment that is only appropriate for adults. Only guests 18 years of age and older will be permitted to enter at all times.

We had pre-dinner drinks at the lovely, large bar. Bartender was outstanding, allowing me to taste test two white wines in order to decide which one I wanted to order. Vodka martini was delicious. It was a Tuesday night, Sarah Jones was the singer/pianist. Lovely voice, music did not overpower conversations. Dinner for 7 people post drinks. Everyone, to a person, thought their food was outstanding. Server was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The Monarque is our favorite special occasion place. The ambiance is a throw back experience which we love!

Even though we had a late reservations at 9:45pm and the kitchen closed at 10pm, Manny didn’t rush us and provided us with EXCELLENT service. He elevated our experience. This was my group’s first time dining at Monarque and we were highly impressed with the service and the food. We all are eager to visit again.

I ordered a whiskey drink and asked to go easy on the lemon because I have a mild allergy to acidity. The server brought back a drink that only tasted like lemon. I asked the server politely if he could replace the drink with one that has no lemon at all. He asked me to pick another drink, and my response was, all the cocktails have lemon so I’d prefer this one with no lemon. He returned with a drink that was overly sweet and had coconut flavor in it for some reason (this was not a flavor mentioned in the menu). I also ordered beef tartar and it was so salty I couldn’t finish it. I didn’t bother to address these other issues because I already felt a lot of attitude from the server and didn’t want to put a damper of on an evening with a close friend that I won’t see again for a long time. At the end of it all, the server switched shifts and left me with a check that had two of the same drink on the menu instead of comping the one I had asked him to take back. For the prices they are charging all of this is unacceptable.

We celebrated my wife’s Birthday at Monarque last night and from the time we walked into the door until the time we left, it felt like a special occasion, everyone wished her a happy birthday. Our server, Manny, was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed and and happy. The hand written birthday card was a nice surprise. The service, the food, the drinks and the show were amazing. Thank you to the staff for everything! We will be back!

A very nice dinner spot for a great birthday celebrations. Manny, our waiter, was quite knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back.
