amazing experience per usual. Great customer service. The fish is so fresh and the flavor combinations are so inventive and unique.

Ordered the 15 pieces omakase at the bar. Service started out very slow. It took the chef a very long time to begin serving us and there was only one other person dining at a table in the restaurant at that time. It took the server a while to clear our plates/bowls. Another couple arrived about 20-30 min later and some how caught up to our meal and actually got served their dessert first. The pieces were just average. The temperature of the rice was very inconsistent, ranging from luke warm to almost hot. The quality of the fish were okay. The wagu was very chewy. Highlight was the uni.

So bad do not go. Went on a Thursday night and the omakase gave me stomach pangs and they ran out of dessert as the last course.

I had high hopes for Moko, but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. We made a reservation for 10:00pm and drove almost a hour to get to the city. When we arrived the hostess who wasn’t helpful at all immediately started to state that the “chef has left already” mind you she wasn’t even aware that we had a reservation, another worker had to inform her. She wasn’t apologetic at all about her mistake and just continued to tell us that they couldn’t do anything about it. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and it was super disappointing because we have been planning on visiting this place for months and finally decided to make a reservation and this happens. But the place next door was happily able to accommodate us.

The sushi was spectacular- some of the best I’ve had in the city. The space is bare bones and a little sterile. The service was ok.

There was quite a bit of a wait for the omakase to come out, but it was quite a nice variety and really carefully and masterfully done. However, i personally am not a huge fan of the decor, trying a little too hard to be new wave chic/japanese/dutch, but i also think if there were more people inside and more lively it would be fun. Mondays! All in all the omakase saved the day.

My girlfriend and I recently dined at Moko. As we entered she remarked that we had been here a year or so ago before for omakase and that she had not enjoyed it. I realized she was correct but since we were there we decided to stay. That was a very wise decision as we had a delightful evening. Since it was a holiday weekend we were the only patrons in the restaurant for most of the time we were there. The omakase was superb and Gif the omakase chef is innovative and talented. She was also the first female sushi chef we had met. Her unique spins on certain standard omakase fishes was remarkable. We will be returning to Moko very soon.

Sushi was solid but for over $100, we felt like there are many other places nearby that are better value (and better food). The vibe was super weird too and the service was mid, overall just not a great experience, definitely skip this place.
