Modern Barn is the place you go to spend time around a table with the people you love, a place to call home. Modern Barn welcomes you to enjoy its delicious American fare, friendly service, and an unparalleled cozy atmosphere. Our menu consists of classic comfort dishes with a modern flair.

Modern Barn can be experienced in many ways. Spend an evening in our wine room featuring 175 bottles of wine, 100 available by the glass, enjoy our vast collection of craft beers and contemporary cocktails; and dinner after a day on the slopes or golf course. Winner of the 2021 Wine Spectator Award.

Enjoyable restaurant in Bethel with delicious food and great drinks! Nice atmosphere and ambience. Would visit again if traveling to the area.

Imaginative cuisine, lovely service, praiseworthy re-fit of an old industrial barn. Very fancy wines at top dollar, but also lots of choices at reasonable prices. Full bar for cocktails, fresh oysters from the Maine coast. Even with most of the tables taken on a Sat night, was not terribly noisy. Bethel a lovely destination town with inns, cafes, shops, churches, and all the walking/hiking/skiing anyone could want.

Husband and I had a fantastic meal at the Modern Barn! I ordered the Milanese and my husband ordered Calamari. Both were extremely delicious! Summer cocktail menu was also delicious. Will be going back soon.

Great food, drink and service. Nice menu and wine list. Plenty of great beer choices. Our server was terrific. Will definitely be back when we’re in town.

Lovely seasonal menu, beautiful interior. Really nice casual restaurant with a very thoughtful menu. Highly recommend!

Food was fine when it finally arrived. We were seated at 6:30 and did not get food until 7:40. The restaurant was not full, and if they were understaffed, then they should not accept reservations.

It is impossible to be fully staffed in a resort town during the busiest week of the year, when an additional ten thousand people come to Bethel, and in four weeks time we encounter six months of shoulder season. Your comments were addressed yesterday via feedback on Square. To make another comment on another forum is intentional and malicious and designed to harm small family businesses.

Their Barata salad is consistently the best ever. Throughout the entire winter I cannot find better tomatoes anywhere!

The service was great and some of the dishes were really good, but it was an hour wait for food after ordering and some of it just wasn’t worth the money. The rice in the poke bowls tasted a day old and it barely had any tuna in it.

We are sorry that management or the kitchen was not made aware of this problem while you were at the restaurant so we could have addressed this while you were in the restaurant. Unfortunately during busy vacation weeks an hour wait for food is very common when you dine at the prime time dinner hour of 6-7pm. We are disappointed to hear of this situation as it does not come anywhere near the experience of other guests. We hope you will visit us again
