Inspired by the wood-fired Robata grills of Japan, Mizu offers a refreshed take on live-fire cooking atop the Hyatt Centric in the heart of Charlotte’s SouthPark neighborhood. Opened in August of 2021 and named one of 2022's "25 Best New Restaurants" and "50 Best Restaurants" by Charlotte Magazine, the rooftop restaurant by Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) combines the traditions of ancient Japanese cooking with Southern influences and Asian flavors. The kitchen, anchored by Mizu’s own Robata grill, features a seafood-focused menu composed of wood-fired, raw, and chilled offerings.

The beverage program focuses on bright, easy-drinking libations using Japanese spirits and seasonal ingredients, complementing the cuisine and atmosphere. With a chic, minimalist design with natural elements throughout, the restaurant, named for the Japanese word for water, offers sweeping rooftop views from the patio, as well as sophisticated interiors and comfortable lounge and bar seating.

Join us at Mizu for a winner-takes-all battle as some of SouthPark's best bartenders go head-to-head with their best Great Wagon Road cocktail creation. Guests will determine who takes the title, voting for their favorite beverage while enjoying small bites from the team at Mizu. The winning bartender not only earns bragging rights as "Best Bartender in SouthPark" but their drink will be featured on Mizu's beverage menu for the month following the Sip Off. Proceeds from ticket sales (which include samples of each cocktail and bites) will be donated to Hospitality House of Charlotte, a local organization that create a "home" for patients and their families while receiving care at a Charlotte medical facility.

Very nice atmosphere. We dined indoors but can’t wait to go back to experience the balcony seating. Food was good and the value was excellent. First time for us but won’t be the last. Complimentary valet parking is a nice touch.

This was our second visit to this beautiful restaurant and the food is amazing. Particularly notable is the robata. We loved the squash with pepitas and the duck breast which was cooked perfectly. We also loved the Lemon Drop sushi roll. Unfortunately service was sub-par. Our waitress was not very attentive and it took more than 20 minutes to receive the duck robata, which should have been quicker to prepare. Overall excellent meal and we’ll be back and hope for smoother service next time.

Not the Mizu I remember. Kitchen needs help. Fish sushi tasted past its prime. Seasoning was all over. Hamachi crudo, roasted squash and shiitake mushroom were underseasoned. Squash was also undercooked. Salmon skewers were over salted. Acid levels on dishes need over all adjusted. Stars of the meal was the wagyu nigiri and negima skewers, but I didn't come for the steak. Ambiance was excellent and staff was attentive.

Mizu was a nice experience. The outside dining area was outstanding. The noise level was low so that you could talk without yelling. The food and service was very good. I would go back again.

REZI!!!!!! Our server was the best server ! I was visiting for work and this restaurant had some great reviews and I figured I’d give it a try even though it was 25 minutes away from downtown where I was staying at. My husband and I have visited many restaurants all over the country and this by far has topped the list. Not only was she extremely polite and knowledgeable but her service was impeccable. John, the manager impressed us as well. He gave us a list of recommendations to do in town while visiting and I loved that he took the time to do that for us. The food was beyond imagination. The presentation was epic! The taste, was just YUM!!! Highly recommend this spot! If you’re out of town or local, this restaurant is a must visit ! ❤️

Celebration at Mizu exceeded ALL expectations. From the moment my Granddaughter, celebrating her 24th birthday, entered the restaurant, she was treated like royalty! She was blown away by the personalized menu and particularly the fact that all vegetarian entrées were noted. The food? Over the Top. Our personable Waitress answered any questions and described menu items in detail to help us with our choices. The food presentation was excellent and paled only to the taste of each dish. Every person raved about the food. A wonderful meal and we will of course be back.
