The history of IWA 5 sake is tied to the life of Richard Geoffroy, former Dom Pérignon chef de cave who founded the IWA Sake brewery in Japan in 2019 He's known for his blending skills and innovative approach to sake making Geoffroy's appreciation for Japan and its people led him to establish the IWA Sake brewery in Tateyama, Toyama IWA 5 is made using an experimental process that changes every year The sake is a blend of three Japanese rice strains (Yamada Nishiki, Gohyakumangoku, and Omachi) and five yeast strains, including a wine yeast The kura is designed to channel the core principles of IWA: inclusivity, horizontality, and community Geoffroy's goal is to make a sake that is true to Japan, and to contribute to a story that has a centuries long history

Experience was lovely; however, I was disappointed with the Japanese station. Salmon was very dry and overcooked. I would have expected a better selection of dumplings.

I fell near the breakfast station due to food or drink spill from guest or wait staff. Wait staff should patrol floors more often. Spoiled my hotel stay at St. Regis.

The New Year’s Eve experience per person was 250+ tax plus gratuity and the set up was horrible. Unless you booked a table which was six people or above there was no seating except for a few sofas no tables on which to put any of your food or drinks. People were putting drinks on the floor and people were basically standing for three hours or leaning up against the bar because there were no barstools no bar tables no nothing. The only thing that was good were the drinks in the food but I would never do this experience again and there were a lot of people that complained because there were no seats

It is a good restaurant in general with great service, however their NYE 2024 was "okay". There were barely any seating option even with reservation, unlike last year. Eating the last meal of 2024 standing in a crowd was very uncomfortable. I appreciate the buffet and unlimited drinks, but food options were okayish, i found only appetizers and desserts to be nice. There were no blankets handed over like last year as they open the terrace for fireworks viewing. I came back this year only because of the above and beyond experience i had here for 2023 NYE but it was more expensive and less impressive this year and not worth $250 excluding tax and 20% gratuity. I hope MIRU brings back the 2023 NYE experience, definitely not looking forward to paying so much only to barely manage a standing space to eat a supposedly special dinner.

New Year tickets were WAY too expensive for there to be NO SEATING and such a SMALL AMOUNT OF FOOD! The gift bags had water and granola mix really? For $250/person. We went to the London House in the previous years and they had a MUCH bigger spread of food for $125/person. The only opportunity for a table stated $3000 and up. That is not worth it! At the end it became a lot more fun because we were allowed to stand out on the terrace and see the fireworks up close. However, we have been to St. Regis multiple times and Miru as well and they could have put a bigger selection of food for that money. Not just sushi, rice and chicken or pork sandwiches for $250/person. I was extremely displeased with the value vs the price. I still LOVE St. Regis but we definitely won’t be attending NYE festivities again. Smh!

A very nice place to see the view. Dinner started with Champagne We the shared the Gem salad- yummy and the Avocado crispy rice-tasty. More Champagne followed we ordered the 22 piece Nigri/Shasini chef’s selection. It was outstanding. Wonderful selection, very fresh and well appointed. We then had the grilled octopus, again very fresh and the sauce was great. Switching to dessert, we asked for a Sake recommendation. It was light and flavorful. We ordered 2 desserts-both chocolate creations that we gobbled up. While the food was excellent, the service was Outstanding. Our waiter helped us make the right choices. A very enjoyable night
