Mimi’s Bakehouse is a second-generation family business established in Edinburgh in 2010, when Michelle Phillips sold her family home to open a bakery café in Leith. We have gone on to build a local success story brand that gives people a ‘hug when they walk in the door’ as the original café has since doubled in size and the business has gained five more shops, a successful website selling cakes online and a concession at Archerfield Walled Garden. We also opened an industrial bakery in March 2020, out of which most online trade is produced for fulfilment. Mimi’s Bakehouse has become one of Edinburgh’s best-loved bakeries and an award-winning brand which is a well-known “feel good” place to visit, while remaining small enough to go the extra mile and try new things.

I regularly go to Mimi's fir brunch ir afternoon tea. Staff very friendly, nothing is ever a issue to them. Food delicious. Would highly recommend

A great little local eatery with a fab menu and lovely staff. Always tricky to decide what to have because it’s all so good! 😊

Our drinks arrived very quickly(one was missing but we assumed it would arrive with the afternoon tea)but the food took longer. By the time it arrived my coffee was cold. The food was nice, particularly the scones and malteser traybake but it was quite pricey for the amount we got. I had to ask twice for my daughter’s missing drink. The waiter said he would bring it but I eventually had to go to the counter to ask them again. The staff were very polite and friendly and also apologetic about the missing drink. We sat in a window booth and I thought the decor needed updating. The table top was quite shabby and the banquette seating felt like it needed a clean. We enjoyed it overall but some aspects were a slight disappointment. I would definitely pop in for some takeaway cakes in the future but maybe not the afternoon tea as it didn’t feel ‘luxurious’ which was what I was after for a birthday celebration. It was a Saturday so perhaps the staff were just extra busy that day.

A lovely afternoon tea, very fresh and tasty. The staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. looking forward to a return visit.

Enjoyed our afternoon tea. Lovely sandwiches, cakes and scones. Unfortunately on this day at 2pm, they had ran out of skimmed and semi skimmed milk so i had to have full cream whole milk which i think was unacceptable. . I also had reserved a table for 2 for afternoon tea for my friends special birthday and on arrival was told the afternoon tea was not reserved but they could make it as they had a baby shower in and had ordered extra food.! .. i also think the inside seating booths need a bit of a refresh. Good service from pleasant staff. I gave 3stars for the reasons above.
