Located on the outskirts of Toronto’s vibrant Yorkville neighbourhood, the MIMI story begins with memories of the past. Loud conversation over plates of steaming noodles. Mimi’s had been on my list for over a year so I was very excited to finally get here. We had such an amazing table right by the kitchen which had a one way mirror to give us a view of the action. The service was top notch and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend the fried shrimp toast and scallop crudo. You also want to make sure that you come with at least a group of 4 as the main dishes are very generous. I think the downfall was a bit of sticker shock for the price. More than half our bill was alcohol and we didn’t even drink THAT much (a cocktail each and 2 bottles of lower priced sake). One guest in our party ordered the pepper beef which I think took the bill over the edge. It was great, but I didn’t come to a Chinese restaurant to eat a steak. Would I go back, probably not, but I would recommend this as a must try but just make sure to stick to the more “traditional” dishes to get the most of the experience.

We had a fantastic experience at Mimi’s Chinese Restaurant in Toronto! DG Seyong and the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome. Our server was exceptionally friendly and attentive, truly adding to the warm ambiance. The food was absolutely amazing—each dish was a delight! The char siu was tender and flavorful, the spicy Sichuan crispy chicken packed the perfect amount of heat, the belt noodles were perfectly textured, and the fish… wow, simply unforgettable! Thank you so much to everyone for a wonderful dining experience. We’ll definitely be back! – Didier & Edith

The raw bar items were great; we took the chicken with chillies which was sumptuous. Rice had pork sausage which was not mentioned as an ingredient in the menu and was disappointing

Incredible experience at MiMi. Food, service, and ambiance were all incredible. Haven’t had high end Chinese before and it was even better than I anticipated. Totally worth the hype.

Had heard and read only good things about Mimi’s and was looking forward to the experience, especially given the location and my love for Mistura. Was very disappointed to be honest - food was heavily spiced and sauced (no flavour other than chili, garlic and salt), prices for the food and the drinks were very high (over 150.00 for a bottle of Stratus red???), ambience was dark and very loud, service was so-so, etc. Not sure what happened and hope that this was just an off-night for the team there, but for the 150.00/pp price tag (bottle of wine and a couple of overpriced cocktails included) definitely not worth going again. Ugh.

10/10 experience. A lovely welcome from the moment we stepped in; guided through an elegant decor of white lotus flowers scattered across the dimly lit dining room, to our red velvet seats and black marble table where our exceptional server Susie helped walk us through the menu and features. Susie was particularly helpful in describing dishes and modifications available for my gluten-free pescetarian guest with a shellfish allergy. She clearly knew the menu inside out. Lastly, the food. Every bite sent a part of me to heaven. I am surprised to find myself still earthbound at the end of my meal. Highlights include the Yu Sheng Bluefin Tuna and Stir Fried Rice Rolls. The Cucumber Salad was also surprisingly delicious. We will be back next time with room for dessert.

Very unusual spices; overdone. Unique experience with unusual food, but very tasty overall. The noise level was high. Staff in every capacity is outstanding!!

Great vibes. Great food. As a person who’s born and lived in HK, certain items, while much more elevated than what you would commonly get from restaurants/cafes there, did bring back a lot of fond memories. Drinks are fantastic. Staff is personable and provided great service.

Really really bad. Super super spicy without any help. And booked 2 months in advance and still put at the bar without any other offer. I don’t think I have ever left a bad review but this place actually deserved it. Thank you, next.
