A British restaurant and bar, Millie’s Lounge serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales and seasonal cocktails.

From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, set amidst the Grand Banking Hall. Enjoy cakes, scones and a selection of sandwiches with a choice of tea.

Please be advised that that Poultry Street is Entry only and Princes Street Exit only. Bookings can't be made for only drinks. Registered guide dogs only are permitted in public areas or restaurant of The Ned. Children are welcome in the restaurant with last booking at 6pm; seated up to 8pm. We will try to accommodate pushchairs where possible but please be aware there may not be space at the table. If you would like to request a highchair or for further information please contact the restaurant directly.

Please note The Ned reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reservation either ahead or upon arrival.

We went to the Ned for a birthday afternoon tea. The service was extremely slow, and unfriendly Very little interaction from the Waiter who we had to get his attention every step of the way The sandwiches were very dry, bland and overs salted. The sandwiches were very dry, bland and overs salted, we were not offered extra sandwiches when we asked for this to be replenished we waited over 25 minutes Afternoon tea at different venues is something that we enjoy very often, unfortunately we would not be recommending the Ned afternoon tea, such a shame as we have dined at many of the Ned other restaurants our favourite being Lutyens grill. Overall, food and service ruined our birthday experience

Hit and miss service and screaming children doing cartwheels around our table that no one wanted to deal with. Not an ideal place for a business breakfast

The food was just okay, I can't recommend going there. Service was really poor, we waited for like 30 minutes to ask to check us, my tea was so bad I'm not sure what they put there, and it was warm, I mean not hot. Was too noisy too, but I knew it was not kinda silent location, though the food was better when I went there previously. Really poor experience.

Service was excellent. An understandable delay in one of the dishes was more-than-adequately compensated by an empowered staff. Service businesses sometimes make mistakes; the question is how they respond. This was outstanding.

A fantastic afternoon tea - the food was delicious, the venue was luxurious and the service was amazing. Thank you so much Dimitar for making our day so special, we attended for our first wedding anniversary and he made it a brilliant experience. Would recommend The Ned and its afternoon tea experiences wholeheartedly.

I have been coming here for business meetings for years - great location, beautiful building and good food. Service is a little slow but generally ok. On this occasion each time the waiter came to take our order / serve us I got a little tap on the shoulder or dig between my shoulder blades to get my attention - not really the sort of service I’d expect. I didn’t say anything because it hasn’t happened before. The first time could have been an accident, but the times after that? The bill also randomly appeared well in advance of breakfast being finished…. confusion amongst the staff ensued as we highlighted it. I’ll go back but service could easily be tweaked and it’d be a 10/10.
