A British restaurant and bar, Millie’s Lounge serves classic dishes alongside a selection of English sparkling wines, craft ales and seasonal cocktails.

From Monday to Saturday, you can enjoy traditional afternoon tea, set amidst the Grand Banking Hall. Enjoy cakes, scones and a selection of sandwiches with a choice of tea.

Please be advised that that Poultry Street is Entry only and Princes Street Exit only. Bookings can't be made for only drinks. Registered guide dogs only are permitted in public areas or restaurant of The Ned. Children are welcome in the restaurant with last booking at 6pm; seated up to 8pm. We will try to accommodate pushchairs where possible but please be aware there may not be space at the table. If you would like to request a highchair or for further information please contact the restaurant directly.

Please note The Ned reserves the right to refuse or cancel any reservation either ahead or upon arrival.

Enjoy our Bank themed Afternoon Tea at Millie’s Lounge. We’re serving up sandwiches, scones and bank-themed cakes, including an edible gold bar made from passion fruit mousse, mango and coconut, and a miniature safe filled with dark chocolate and salted caramel. Choose from a selection of teas including Earl Grey and Darjeeling, or add a little sparkle with a glass of Champagne. This is the second time I have visited Millie’s at The Ned with friends for afternoon tea and the food was once again amazing( especially the scones!). The service was great, the team was attentive without being over the top and they replenished our delicious sandwiches for us. The surroundings in this beautiful building, formerly Midland Bank were so conducive to a very elegant afternoon ( we were even able to see the vaults!). The only criticism I had is that whilst the live music and female singer were a nice touch she was far too loud and we struggled to talk at a normal level. It would be great if The Ned could bear this in mind as afternoon tea is supposed to have a relaxing ambience and the choice of music we felt would be more suited to the evening when people are drinking in the bar. Above all though it was a really special afternoon

Service could have been better, lady who served water spilled it in table, no problem with that but she did not care to clean

Millie’s was busy but not too noisy. Staff were welcoming and professional. Food was very good. Service was friendly and with a smile. So far my favourite City venue.

Friday 7th June 2024 - 6pm dinner with friends. Really lovely experience, friendly staff, great food and comfortable seats with some nice background music. Nice variety of menu options in Millie's Lounge.
