Mildreds is all about fresh, colourful food that’s vibrant and full of flavours. Their six London restaurants, each with their own unique style and personality, offer laid-back and friendly service in a lively atmosphere.

Often surprising and seducing hardened carnivores and with all of their dishes vegan and many gluten free, Mildreds offers a warm welcome to all.

We booked a birthday dinner for three people. I’d enjoyed the food at Mildreds before, so I was shocked by the overall poor service, which definitely needs improvement. We arrived an hour early, hoping for an open table, but were told to come back at the correct booking time, which was reasonable. When we returned, the host didn’t mention my request for a booth and tried to squeeze us in upstairs with the crowd. After making me feel a bit awkward about it, he said there might be a 15-minute wait, handed us paper menus while we stood, and finally checked for a booth downstairs. Service started well, with attentive water refills and a short wait for starters, but everything went wrong after that. Our table wasn’t cleared when one main dish arrived alone; we had to ask to have it cleared, waited another 10 minutes, and then only got three knives with no forks? By this point, one main was getting cold. When we asked for the rest of the food, it took an additional 6 minutes to arrive, with some minor confusion about the dishes that was quickly resolved. We asked twice for ketchup with the fries, which finally arrived 5-6 minutes later. A floor manager eventually checked on us, and I expressed my disappointment, mentioning it was a birthday dinner. He initially dismissed it as a misunderstanding with only a brief apology. Afterward, we received more attentive care, but we had to disrupt our meal to address the service issues, which was disappointing. We appreciated the complimentary items on the bill, but we would have preferred attentive service from the start and gladly paid full price to fully enjoy the birthday dinner.

Amazing food and excellent service. Each item was cooked with a lot of thought and the combination of taster menu was just divine.

Disappointing overall. We went to celebrate my son’s birthday and all came away feeling like we were an inconvenience. Service was efficient, not friendly or welcoming. Food was ok, but we’ve had better at other Mildred’s and much better at Mallow. Overall just disappointing.

We sought somewhere to eat before attending a performance, one of us wanting a plant-based choice. The reviews for Mildred's were great and the place and the food looked good. We certainly were not disappointed. This is a super place for anyone, but especially good for those on a plant-based diet to be able to choose anything at all from the menu. Really hope to get to visit again.

We really enjoyed our meal. Some had been to a vegan or vegetarian restaurant before and were a bit apprehensive . But they were really surprised at how good the food was. So we tried new dishes to us They were all very tasty and flavourful. And filling. The restaurant was very busy as it was lunchtime so service understandably was a little slow but they didn’t hurry us at all. The staff were helpful and friendly. Next time we might ask not to be seated near the door as it was a bit draughty on a busy day! But it did not spoil a great meal.

I had the Kiri Hodi and it was not up to the usual standard. It had raw chilli in it and just wasn't up to scratch. It was very busy indeed so service was poor; more staff needed. I much prefer Soho.

The three of us were placed at a small table in the middle of the restaurant downstairs, It turned out to be an extremely uncomfortable as both customers and staff were constantly bumping into our chairs.

Our first, but definitely not our last, experience of Mildreds (Covent Garden). Recommend the Sharing Menu for Two if you’ve not been before. But beware, make sure you’re extra hungry before you go. We couldn’t manage all the delicious Kiri Hodi / Beetroot Thel Dala so took some of it home in small cartons provided. Lovely staff!
