This is a full service restaurant & bar with thoughtful dishes that evoke memories.

Chef Dunlap was previously the Executive Sous Chef at The Inn at Little Washington and the Corporate Executive Chef of Quirk Hotels (Quirk Hotel RVA & Quirk Hotel CVille). He was named as 1 of the 32 Restaurant Stars on the Rise in 2020 by FSRMagazine, Rising Star Chef of the Year by Two Roads Hospitality Worldwide, and has won Best Dishes at Broad Appetit 4 years in a row.

Ate dinner outside on a lovely evening. Our waiter was one of our favorites-Sean. Great service.

A truly outstanding restaurant in an area where truly outstanding restaurants are not readily available Top notch service, attention to detail, quality ingredients and perfectly prepared dishes. The portions appear to be a bit on the small side, but we are always surprisingly full when we leave!

Charcuterie Board? Everything in 3’s. 3 cheese, 3 meats, 3 spreads, 3 pickled items (carrots, cucumbers, grapes (if you never have, you need to try them)), bbq almonds, warm bread = straight yum. Great as a starter to a quiet night in house, or even as a happy hour kickstart. Each item was presented by Ben, our server/waiter/guru/(insert politically correct word). I hope you get Ben. Butter poached Filet Mignon? Ridiculously good. Cut like butter so you can imagine the taste. I cannot say it’s one of the best steaks I’ve had because it is THE best steak I’ve ever had. I’m no expert, but that is perfection. Seared Rockfish? Crispy top and sweet, flaky deliciousness beneath on a bed of summer succotash. Superb as is, but both go exceptionally well with the lobster cream it is served with. In fact, save a piece of that warm bread and dunk that in that lobster cream as well. We went with the chef recommended wine pairings and they were spot on. Again, I’m no expert, but the flavor profiles went hand in hand/complimented each other beautifully/(insert politically correct word). If you’ve never been to this gem, please go. Get the steak. Get the rockfish. I hope you get Ben.

Being seated directly next to the wine/water refrigerator, as the wait staff pulled bottles out and stocked San Pellegrino water, was not a pleasant experience. Doubt we will go back.

We were celebrating my husband’s 75th birthday at the chefs table. The dishes and wine pairings were spot on. The service, fantastic. Chef David Dunlap is truly an amazing chef. The balance,presentation and complexity of the offerings was sublime. He is an artist. Thank you for making Jim’s birthday memorable.
