MIDA by Chef Douglass William's is now open on East Boston's waterfront. Our James Beard Nominated restaurant group is situated directly on the edge of the pier with panoramic views of the downtown Boston Skyline. The restaurant is surrounded by the water on three sides with a massive patio that is perfect for date night and large groups at all hours of the day. Vaulted ceilings, sprawling windows, and a gorgeous lighting profile make this location the perfect destination for all occasions. Mida is wonderful! The wine list is extensive, focused on all regions of Italy. The food is amazing and we had the best tiramisu for dessert. And we’ve made a science of tasting and rating tiramisu!

The food was good, but the portions were very small. The pasta entree was the size of an appetizer. The price based on size of plates felt pricey. If they gave a slightly larger portion the cost would be justified. It’s the smallest portion I have gotten for an entree at an Italian restaurant in Boston.

So glad we selected this wonderful place with amazing views for our one and only night in Boston. Service was friendly, and overall outstanding; incredibly attentive, the wait staff clearly worked as a collaborative, well coordinated team, with no less than four staff refilling our water glasses, clearing used dishes and bringing delicious bread refills before we even asked. Food was beautiful quality for surprisingly reasonable prices considering quality of food and location with its prime views of the water right there with views of beautiful lights of downtown across water. Our only slight downside was my son thought his tagliatelle was a touch cooked past al dente, and I found the atmosphere very noisy and hard to converse. I know these echo type bustling places are in vogue, but as part of the 55+ crowd, I would prefer quiet casual elegance of more classical or quiet jazz music and construction that absorbs a bit of the noise. Would also like to see a hot soup in appetizers and a few more dessert choices, though the pistachio gelato was to die for, and a great palate cleanser. Overall though, we were thrilled with our experience, wowed by the service, food, and view. Would love to return if ever back in Boston!

Fabulous views but lousy food. Bummed out, won’t go there again nor recommend the restaurant.

Impromptu pop in while killing time to avoid traffic after an airport pick up…. We were blown away. Great vibe- service + food was fab and… the view. Mind blown. Will definitely be back.
