$30 for a cocktail, $19 for a glass of wine, 23% service charge that is not a gratuity Crazy overpriced for meh food

Food was expensive and just okay. My partners pasta was undercooked and just a bit shy of al dente which was disappointing considering this is a restaurant that primarily serves pasta. There was also a confusing 22% service fee that I didn’t quite understand. I’m used to seeing built in gratuity for parties of a certain size but this 22% added fee applies to every check, no matter what. The server explained that the fee goes to the owners to help pay wages and is separate from gratuity and that gratuity is optional (which it always is so not sure why they needed to specify). I understand that restaurants run on thin margins and I’m used to things being more expensive than they should be here in Seattle but this felt like a bit much. Especially considering that the food is already pretty expensive and the service is just okay. We were excited to try this spot but were disappointed overall.

It was not worth it. Went for a birthday dinner and they didn’t acknowledge that, the food was cold, no flavor. Very bland and the service was ok. Plus they charge a 22% service fee and then have the anuda to ask for tip. It’s not worth it. There are better places that actually taste like Italian food. If you can afford their prices go somewhere better.

This place is amazing! The staff is very accommodating, incredibly nice and friendly. Please be mindful if you are a couple and want to get the famous pasta flight! It is a HUGE board with full size portions (meant to feed 4-6 people).

We went to Messina for my birthday dinner, and were frankly disappointed. We were not informed until we tried ordering that three of the 6 available pastas were not available, when the food did eventually come out (slowly and quite spread out so we didn’t all eat at the same time), the pizzas were burnt and oily (to the point that my sister couldn’t even tell if there was meat on her pizza). The rest of the food was fine, it wasn’t terrible, but for nearly $30 an entree it was certainly overpriced

Great friendly service (Michaela super hostess) and beautiful modern restaurant. My pasta was delicious! Served Al dente with a delicious ragu over it. Not extremely expensive but more importantly great value! Nice wine list as well! Thank you
